ASC Relocates DC-Metro
Office
The Adhesive and Sealant Council, Inc. (ASC) has relocated its
offices. After 10 years on Old Georgetown Road, ASC has opted to move to
a newer building with better amenities and a location more convenient to
DC's Metro subway system. While ASC's address has changed, their e-mail,

Exports Keep U.S. Economy Out of
Recession
Exports have accounted for early half (46 percent) of the growth in
the U.S. economy over the past year and are supported by a robust
financing sector, according to panelists in a roundtable discussion
recently hosted by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM); its
research, education and workforce affiliate The Manufacturing Institute;
and the Equipment Leasing and Financing Association (ELFA). "U.S.
exports have kept the economy out of recession during the most recent
two quarters," said NAM Chief Economist David Huether. "Capital goods
exports, including automotive vehicles and parts, account for more than
a third (34 percent) of total U.S. exports and nearly half (49 percent)
of manufactured exports. These manufactured exports are the real bright
spot in the U.S. economy and are supported by a robust financing sector.
U.S. export growth will be a real shot in the arm for manufacturers in
2008."

Electrofix Pressure Sensitive
Adhesives
WINDSOR, CT: Products in the Scapa Electrofix line are
single-coated with medical grade acrylic adhesives in varying tacks. For
patients with acrylic sensitivities, a medical grade synthetic rubber
resin adhesive is also available. All Electrofix adhesives are
compatible with hydrogels and will remove easily without leaving
residue. Scapa Electrofix adhesives are supplied on a range of foam,
film, non-woven, and laminate backings. These flexible and conformable
backings include: water-repellent polyethylene foams that provide
cushioning, breathable polyester and viscose non-wovens for extended
wear, water repellent polyethylene laminates that provide the benefits
of non-wovens, and a discrete polyethylene film that can be perforated

New Line of High-Performance Specialty
Chemicals
LINCOLNSHIRE, IL: New line of high-performance specialty chemicals
includes contact cleaners, firestop caulk, room temperature vulcanizing
(RTV) silicone sealants, lubricants, and wasp and hornet spray. For use
in a variety of work environments, Klein® chemicals are VOC
(volatile organic compound) compliant and high dielectric. Color-coded
can tops and icons allow for positive identification and selection of
chemicals for specific applications.
The new line includes:
- Firestop Caulk – Its cured red silicone rubber composition
provides excellent performance stability and a pressure-tight seal that
prevents the spread of fire, smoke and toxic gases through service
penetrations. A patented char composite contains graphite, which expands
when exposed to temperatures in excess of 300 F (150 C).

Thermally Conductive, Electrically Isolating
Epoxy Resists High Temperatures
HACKENSACK, NJ: Supreme 11AOHT is a two component room temperature
curing epoxy adhesive with high thermal conductivity and excellent
electrical insulation properties. Supreme 11AOHT is a paste that can be
applied without sagging or dripping even on vertical surfaces. It has a
convenient mixing ratio of 1 to 1 by weight or volume. Supreme 11AOHT
has a service operating temperature range of -100°F to +400°F
and is well suited for applications involving thermal cycling. Master
Bond Supreme 11AOHT has high shear and peel strength. It bonds well to
both similar and dissimilar substrates. This toughened compound has
exceptional adhesion to most metals, ceramics, glass and most rubbers
and plastics. Bonds are resistant to water, oil and most organic
