Jobs for America
The U.S. economy appears to be emerging from recession, but the
severity of this downturn has left substantial underutilized resources
in labor and product markets. To close the gap between actual and
potential GDP (that is, the full-employment level of output) as quickly
as possible, economic growth must accelerate beyond current
expectations. Unless sustainable growth is achieved, the unemployment
rate will remain close to 10 percent in the immediate future and a
portion of the nation's manufacturing capacity will continue to sit
idle. Economic and tax policy changes, combined with targeted investment
in infrastructure, could effectively stimulate the economy in the near
term while positioning the nation for sustained higher economic growth
over the medium and long term. Given the current economic environment, a
government-backed infrastructure program should be considered as an
insurance policy to prevent further layoffs, stimulate job growth, and
help restore the confidence of the American labor force. Courtesy of the

Manufacturing to Grow 5.7% in
2010
Economic growth in the United States will resume in 2010, according
to the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) in their December 2009
Semiannual Economic Forecast. Manufacturing revenues will grow 5.7
percent in 2010 compared to a 10.7 percent decrease in 2009.
Expectations for 2010 are for the positive conditions experienced in the
second half of 2009 to continue in manufacturing, while the
non-manufacturing sector foresees marginal growth. The overall forecast
projects optimism about the U.S. economy for 2010. The manufacturing
sector overall is positive about prospects in 2010 with revenues
expected to increase in 13 of 18 industries, while the non-manufacturing
sector appears slightly less positive about the year ahead with 8 of 18
industries expecting higher revenues. Business investment, a major
driver in the U.S. economy, will decline as both sectors expect a
combined average of a 5.4 percent decline in capital spending.

High Temperature, Metallic Adhesives and
Putties
BROOKLYN, NY: Durabond™ offers high temperature bond strength
and stability, excellent adhesion, machinability, and thermal shock
resistance. Durabond™ unique adhesives and putties are specially
formulated to bond metals, ceramics and dissimilar materials for use to
2000°F. These metallic composite adhesives overcome the brittle
bonds obtained with ceramics and offer some of the ductility and impact
resistance associated with soldering and welding. Durabond™
adhesives can be drilled, tapped, machined, etc. They do not contain
epoxies or silicones, which would limit their use to 600°F. These
composites are inorganically bonded and chemically cured. Ideal for
repairing and rebuilding cracked metal housings, exhaust manifolds,
molds, dies, boilers, pipes, fittings, worn shafts and castings. ---

P-80® RediLube Temporary Rubber Assembly
Lubricant
BURLINGTON, NJ: P-80 RediLube rubber assembly lubricants provide
temporary lubrication that can ease assembly of tight-fitting parts.
P-80 RediLube is designed for use on non-porous and coated rubber
surfaces. It provides a high degree of lubrication but dries quickly,
making it ideal for sub-assembly. Uses include installation of hoses,
bushings, seals, o-rings, grommets, and grips. P-80 RediLube is
biodegradable and does not contain alcohol, petroleum distillates, or
silicone. It is safe to use on most natural and synthetic rubbers,
metals, and plastics. --- International Products Corp.

Super-resilient "Nano-Ceramic"
Lubricant
DAYTON, OH: DAYLube™ lubricating grease utilizes nano ceramic
particles that act as sub-microscopic "bearings," providing continuous
lubrication to steel surfaces. DAYLube™ lasts ten times longer
than standard PTFE greases; offers a much lower coefficient of friction
at all temperatures; provides extraordinary adhesion; and gives higher
load-bearing properties than traditional high-performance greases.
DAYLube™ was created with the use of nanotechnology, a process
that involves the development of new, better, and more cost-effective
materials at the molecular level. Key components in DAYLube™ are
nano ceramic "bearings" that have an affinity for steel, and provide
continuous lubrication at the surface. These are fabricated over a
calcium sulfonate thickener within a mid-viscosity petroleum-based
paste. --- Dayton Progress Corp.
