ATLAS® FM™ FULL METRIC INSERTS
ATLAS® FM™ Full Metric blind threaded inserts offer ideal
solutions for "blind" attachment applications where only one side of a
panel is accessible for assembly. These inserts install quickly and
easily from the accessible "front" side with only a single mating screw
required to complete final component attachment. These fasteners are
ideally suited for tubing, extrusion, and other similar types of
applications. PennEngineering --- Read More

Jobs for America
The U.S. economy appears to be emerging from recession, but the
severity of this downturn has left substantial underutilized resources
in labor and product markets. To close the gap between actual and
potential GDP (that is, the full-employment level of output) as quickly
as possible, economic growth must accelerate beyond current
expectations. Unless sustainable growth is achieved, the unemployment
rate will remain close to 10 percent in the immediate future and a
portion of the nation's manufacturing capacity will continue to sit
idle. Economic and tax policy changes, combined with targeted investment
in infrastructure, could effectively stimulate the economy in the near
term while positioning the nation for sustained higher economic growth
over the medium and long term. Given the current economic environment, a
government-backed infrastructure program should be considered as an
insurance policy to prevent further layoffs, stimulate job growth, and
help restore the confidence of the American labor force. Courtesy of the

Lincoln Electric Welding School
Announces Its 2010 Schedule
The Lincoln Electric Welding School is the oldest and one of the
most respected arc welding schools in the United States. Classes are
taught by the school's seven full-time instructors who have more than
100 years of combined industry experience. Courses are designed to teach
the arc welding skills that employers need. Lincoln-trained students are
in high demand by welding fabricators at pay levels that tend to exceed
the industry average. Classes fill up quickly, so interested students
are encouraged to register at least one month in advance.

Video Demonstrates Patented Explosion
Control
All oxygen regulators carry an inherent danger that the oxygen could
spontaneously ignite if it encounters certain impurities, such as
hydrocarbons, within the regulator. These accidents occur most often
when regulators are used without following prescribed safety practices
but even the most conscientious worker could make a mistake. In the
resultant cylinder explosions, regulator pieces can become burning
projectiles and cause serious injuries. ESAB manufactures a complete
line of regulators with patented built-in explosion protection. The
design suppresses internal forces from a cylinder explosion within the
cylinder and thereby minimizes the risk of personal injury. The company
has created a new video that demonstrates the effectiveness of this
explosion control design.

EZ-Slider Torque Arms
SAN JOSE, CA: The new EZ-Slider torque arms are designed to improve
production and quality control during the assembly process. The
ergonomic design of the EZ-Slider torque arm reduces RMI (repetitive
motion injury) and CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome). The effortless handling
of the torque arm provides comfortable tool operation and increased
production. The Mountz torque arm eliminates torque reaction of power
and pneumatic tools. Crafted with a lightweight durable carbon fiber,
the EZ-Slider torque arm slides up and down and provides X & Y axis
mobility. A Gliding Rail System, an accessory product by Mountz, allows
the EZ-Slider torque arm the freedom to travel horizontally (side to
side) on a production floor. Combining these two items allow
manufactures the ability to set-up a "Slide & Glide" movement with the
EZ-Slider. The Mountz torque arm is an ideal ergonomic solution for
multi-tool applications such as a moving production and assembly line
where balancers are fixed to a trolley system. --- Mountz

Mini-Angular Grippers
NEW HYDE PARK, NY: MGW800 Series Miniature Angular Grippers are
designed for use in small electronic and packaging applications. These
new miniature grippers are excellent for assemblies and multiple
pick-and-place applications, and are now available in eight different
sizes beginning at a miniscule 12 mm x 10 mm x 26 mm (L x W x H). The
MGW800 Series was designed to ensure maximum force and moment
resistance, high-precision and play-free guides. The grippers have up to
4.55 Nm (39.36 lbf - in.) of grip torque and stroke per jaw of
37.5°. Jaw position, whether opened or closed, can be sensed through
the use of magnetic sensors, providing positive feedback. ---

Series GRM1 Clamps
FT WAYNE, IN: Series GRM1 clamp is a compact version of the
original GRM Clamp was designed to fit into tight areas. Its lightweight
design is perfect for end effector/robotic tooling and maintains
superior power. Even at under 1 pound [0.4 kg] in weight (without tips)
it provides 225 pounds [1000 N] of total clamp force which is equal to
the GRM2. The Series GRM1 incorporates the same simple design as the
earlier GRM and has been tested to withstand millions of trouble-free
cycles. The mini also uses all of the same standard tips as the original
clamp and is fully field repairable. More benefits of the Series GRM1
Clamp include adjustable hardened impact plates, self-locking internal
threads, four jaw openings and optional tips and switches. --- PHD
