Reducing or Ignoring Workplace
Safety
"Workplace safety processes must be in place at all times," American
Society of Safety Engineers' (ASSE) President Warren K. Brown, CSP, ARM,
CSHMM, of Fairborn, Ohio, said today. "They are even more critical
during business downturns." Brown is referring to recent reports of some
companies cutting safety processes hoping to reduce costs. "If companies
believe they will save money by reducing or ignoring safety for their
workers, customers and communities they do business in, they are
mistaken," Brown said. "The ongoing positive results are in and have
been for companies that have a strong safety culture and continually
invest in and implement effective safety processes. Not only does their

30-foot Light Tower Kit
FORT SMITH, AR: New 30-foot light tower kit is extremely portable
and easy to assemble. The new light tower kit is available for use with
Baldor's TS35T towable generator and assembly only takes about two
hours. After the unit is removed from its shipping pallet all that is
required is the installation of the specially designed brackets and
ballast box (no drilling is required) and attachment of the
self-contained telescoping light mast. The final step is to plug the
provided cord into a 120V/50 amp twist lock outlet on the generator
control panel. The new light tower kit can provide 5 to 7 acres of
quality light for applications in industries such as construction, oil,
gas and water drilling, agriculture, landscaping, road repair and

Anti-Graffiti Clear Coat
|
CLEVELAND, OH: Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings has
introduced Anti-Graffiti Clear Coat, a single-component, low VOC.
Requiring only a solvent wipe cleaning or using a 3000-psi pressure
washer to remove graffiti, the new coating is intended to protect
bridges, overpasses, concrete fences and railcars, as well as commercial
buildings, schools and transit stations from the blight of defacing by
spray paint and permanent marker. "Our product development team has
outdone itself with a coating that not only retains its aesthetic
semi-gloss appearance over time but also preserves its intrinsic
anti-graffiti characteristics," said Doni Riddle, Protective & Marine
Vice President of Sales. "And it's easy to work with: no mixing is
required, and because it adheres directly to concrete, no primer is
necessary, either." Fast-drying and versatile for the applicator -
methods include brush, roller or airless spray - Riddle said the
moisture-cure coating could be dry to the touch in as little as 30
minutes, depending on temperature, humidity and film thickness. ---
