Next Generation of
Engineers
Clippard Instrument Laboratory, Inc. has announced that it is
joining forces with FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science
and Technology), a not-for-profit organization founded by inventor Dean
Kamen to inspire young people's interest and participation in science
and technology, as a Silver Supplier of the FIRST Robotics Competition.
The FIRST Robotics Competition Silver Supplier level designates a
contribution between $10,000 and $50,000. Clippard Instrument
Laboratory, Inc. provided air volume tanks for the 2009 FRC Kit of Parts
which was distributed to more than 1,680 teams of high-school students.
By providing components for the competition, FIRST suppliers are putting
the latest technology in the hands of students, giving them the
opportunity to apply the same tools used by professional scientist and
engineers and ultimately helping them learn real-world skills they will
carry into the workplace. The 2009 Kit of Parts contain 604 items, 39%
of which are donated.

ARO-Flo Series of Filters, Regulators and
Lubricators
BRYAN, OH: The ARO Fluid Technologies business of Ingersoll Rand is
releasing an expanded and improved ARO-Flo Series of filters, regulators
and lubricators to clean and lubricate air for use with pneumatic tools.
The upgraded line includes a new size and a new completely modular
design. The enhanced ARO-Flo products come in four series, varying in
port size and maximum standard cubic feet per minute (scfm) for optimal
fit to the application and tools used. • Miniature 1000 Series
with 1/8" and 1/4" ports, and a maximum flow of 57 scfm • All-new
Compact 1500 Series with 1/4" and 3/8" ports, and a maximum flow of 109
scfm • Standard 2000 Series with 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4" ports, and a
maximum flow of 222 scfm • Heavy-Duty 3000 Series with 3/4" and 1"
ports, and a maximum flow of 381 scfm Key advantages of the upgraded

missing, a self-adhering, abrasion resistant wrap. The new product

Proportional Spool Valve Type PSL with Direct
CAN-BUS Interface

spool valve, type PSL, complete with direct CAN-BUS interface. The
simplified wiring for quick and safe installation is its new design
characteristic. Unlike ordinary designs on the market, the wiring is
connected and ready for use by inserting the entire cable. The
electrical connection complies with the protection rating IP 67,
enabling a broad range of mounting locations even in rough environmental
conditions. The integrated signal relay ensures the automatic
optimization of the valve's reactive behavior. This will result in a
reduction of hysteresis, which offers greater precision of repetitions
