Static Control Products
The cold, dry months of winter are here that produce all sorts of static
problems such as dust attraction, jamming, tearing and painful shocks.
The EXAIR web site details the causes of static electricity and how to
eliminate it.
* Eliminate static and dust!
* Neutralize and clean at distances up to 20 feet!
* Prevent materials tearing, jamming or curling
EXAIR static eliminators neutralize the static charge on plastics, webs,
sheet stock and more to improve production speeds, product quality and
surface cleanliness. Web site offers detailed information, downloadable

***Flexible Latex Rubber Tubing Withstands
Repeated Bending, Stretching, & Pulsating Forces***
SOUTHHAMPTON, PA: Now available from NewAge(R) Industries is natural
latex rubber tubing for applications requiring repeated flexing and
stretching. Long used in the health care industry, it has expanded into
the food, toy, instrumentation, exercise equipment, and sporting goods
fields. Known for its extreme flexibility, latex is among the most
elastic rubber materials in use today. Resiliency is another quality of
latex tubing, allowing it to maintain memory after repeated elongation,
distortion, and pulsation. NewAge's latex tubing, called Newtex, also
withstands repeated sterilization with steam, Ethylene Oxide, or gamma
radiation. There are no added plasticizers, coagulants, or fillers to
migrate and contaminate the stream or cause tube hardening. Newtex
remains flexible even at cold temperatures approaching -60°F
(-51°C). Newtex is made from pure, liquid, natural latex. The
tubing is seamless, uniform, and smooth for maximum flow. All
ingredients are non-toxic and conform to FDA standards. NewAge
Industries stocks Newtex in eighteen sizes, ranging from .063" to .750"
I.D., for same-day or JIT (Just In Time) shipment. A variety of fittings
and clamps are also carried. Synthetic latex, or polyisoprene, tubing is
offered as a custom item. It is made without the allergen-causing
protein found in natural latex. ---Newage Industries Inc.

***Non-Contacting & Touchless Rotary
Sensors***
SOUTHBOROUGH, MA: Lline of non-contact and fully touchless rotary
position sensors now includes six different series of rotary position
sensors. These are ideal for mobile and other harsh environment,
limited-space applications. These sensors feature two sensing
technologies. The first is non-contact technology with a rotating shaft
and is found in RSC- 1300, 2200, 2800 and 3700 series. The newest
technology is Novotechnik's unique touchless technology, with no shaft,
that features a round position marker that mounts separately-- a
distance from the detecting sensor component. The Vert-x E and RFC
series sensors are based on this touchless technology. Novotechnik's
rotary sensors extend from miniature sensors measuring just 13 mm in
diameter for use in tight applications to rugged 48 mm rotary angle
sensors sealed up to IP69K to operate under adverse conditions.
Specifications include programmable angular range to 360°,
resolution to 14-bits and up to unlimited mechanical life. These
position sensors are available with a wide range of options including:
analog, incremental, SPI, PWM and redundant outputs. In all, there are
dozens of models and options to choose from. ---Novotechnik US, Inc.

Inflatable Seated Butterfly Valve
An inflatable seated butterfly valve designed for dry bulk solids or
liquid slurry applications is available from Posi-flate. The valve is
ideally suited for abrasive materials such as sand, feldspar, fly ash
and most other dry, granular materials, which reduce valve life.
The inflatable seat design provides a better seal by utilizing air
pressure to expand the seat against the disc, providing more sealing
area and an even pressure distribution against the disc every time. The
seat automatically compensates for wear when it inflates against the
disc, extending valve life considerably.
Standard sizes range from 2" (50mm) to 30" (750mm). The valves are
available in a wide variety of construction materials. Visit www.posiflate.com or email us at info@posiflate.com

***Union Clout Continues to Wane***
"Although negotiations between the United Auto Workers and General
Motors led to a walk-out before being settled, the quick resolution
should not be interpreted as a sign of labor unions' strength, says
David Curtis, labor attorney at Dallas' Shackelford, Melton & McKinley.
"Union members gained very little. Today's American labor unions are
immobilized with shameful self-interest, leaving them nearly catatonic.
Even though a coalition of professors and unions are currently working
together to 'revitalize' unions in this country, unless and only until a
selfless, charismatic leader surfaces and the interest of the American
worker is regained and ignited, the American labor union will continue
to languish in its current vegetative state."
