Federal Signal's LED visual signals with XLT (eXtreme Light
Technology are designed for harsh industrial environments; they are
the industries first explosion-proof C1D1 LED signal lights certified by
UL as meeting Type 4X watertight and corrosion-resistant requirements,
and are IP66 rated. The super bright LED array produces intense light
output and 60,000 hours of service. Increased shock and vibration
resistance add to this rugged unit's industrial strength of features.
Units are available in 24VAC/DC, 120VAC or 240VAC and five colors
– amber, blue, clear, green and red. Additionally, the units come
standard in flashing mode and are field configurable to steady-burn mode

360° Static Discharge and Cleaning for
Moving Surfaces
CINCINNATI, OH: EXAIR's new Super Ion Air Wipe provides a
uniform 360° ionized airstream that clamps around a continuously
moving part to eliminate static electricity and contaminants. It is
ideal for removing dust, particulates and shocks on pipe, cable,
extruded shapes, hose, wire and more.
The Super Ion Air Wipe uses a small amount of compressed air to entrain
high volumes of room air. Two shockless ionizing points powered by a UL
Listed 5kV power supply fills the airstream with static eliminating
ions. That airflow attaches itself to the surface of the material
running through the air wipe and is effective for many feet away from
where it is mounted. The force of the wiping action can be controlled
with an optional pressure regulator. 5 PSIG will produce effective

U.S. Workers Taking Chances with
Safety by not Wearing PPE
U.S. workers are risking workplace injuries by not complying
with important safety procedures, according to a survey by
Kimberly-Clark Professional. The survey found that 89 percent of safety
professionals polled at the 2008 National Safety Council (NSC) Congress
have observed workers failing to wear personal protective equipment
(PPE) when they should have been. "We find it disheartening that people
continue to put themselves at risk by failing to wear PPE when
undertaking hazardous tasks," said Randy Kates, general manager of the
safety business for Kimberly-Clark Professional. "Despite the importance
of PPE, there is still an unacceptably high rate of noncompliance in the
workplace." This is the third consecutive year that the Kimberly-Clark
survey has revealed a high rate of PPE noncompliance. In 2007, 87
percent of respondents said they had observed PPE noncompliance in the
workplace, while 85 percent answered yes to this question in 2006.
