Report Outlines Material Handling
Growth Areas
Globalization is driving the development of more efficient material
handling technologies, according to a new report from Frost & Sullivan's
Technical Insights research group. The most common trend, according to
the report, "Advances in Material Handling Systems," is to build
material handling equipment that is smaller yet smarter. In addition,
collaboration among multiple companies has increased along with
integrated supply chains and concurrent movement of goods and
information. Green initiatives are likely to increase in the material
handling market, the report continues. "Industrial practitioners are
displaying a preference for environmentally responsible material
handling systems that reduce emission levels and produce less noise,"
the analysis states. "To ensure greater uptake of material handling
systems, new technologies must be developed to ratchet down costs and
improve ROI."

Centric Grippers with Multitooth Guidance
Gripper
NORRISVILLE, NC: PZB-plus is a newly designed series of 3-finger
centric grippers, whose special feature is a central bore designed as a
sleeve. This central bore, which is also equipped with female threads
for customer-specific add-ons, can be used to supply material or as an
ejector. However, it can also be used to monitor the handling or
assembly process with a camera system or to pick up workpieces and
centre them using the sleeve during the gripping process, for example.
There are also threads integrated on the upper face of the gripper in
addition to the threads on the cover plate, to facilitate mounting
customer-specific add-ons. PZB-plus is available in two different stroke
length versions, whereby the smaller stroke results in approximately
double gripping force. The six sizes from 64 to 200 are fitted with a
multitooth guide, as is the case in the premium series PGN-plus and

Counterbalanced Lift Truck
GREENE, NY: The new Model 4450 3-wheel sit-down counterbalanced
truck from The Raymond Corporation is engineered for productivity,
energy efficiency and enhanced performance in a variety of material
handling applications. Designed for smooth transport of products and
stacking of pallets, the Model 4450 features a short head length that
reduces turn radius, also making it ideal for tight spaces, such as
those found in manufacturing, warehousing and on loading docks. The
Model 4450 can handle capacities up to 4,000 pounds (1,814 kg). As a
standard feature, selectable travel speeds enable the Model 4450
operator to properly adjust the truck to the environment for enhanced

reduce travel speeds while unloading a trailer and switch to higher

Portable Scissor Lifts Require No
Power
ATTLEBORO, MA: Regal Portable Scissor Lifts are perfect for a wide
variety of uses in manufacturing, warehousing, retail and even office
environments. Typical uses include moving loads from one area to
another, lifting loads to a convenient height for transferring them to
