Digital Micrometer Doubles Measurement Speed and Accuracy
The Keyence LS-7000 Series Micrometers use no moving parts like conventional scanning micrometers and they provide long term, maintenance-free operation. A high-intensity GaN green LED light source, a linear CCD, and telecentric optics contribute to an outstanding ± 0.2µm measurement repeatability. The LS-7070 Model incorporates a 65mm beam for gauging large diameter targets at 2400 samples/sec. Other LS-7000 Series models include the LS-7030 (30mm beam width) and the Super-Fine LS-7010 (6mm beam width). Download catalog.

***Linear Rail Systems***
WATERBURY, CT: The Haydon Linear Rail System uses a precision leadscrew assembly to provide controlled positioning along the axis of a robust linear slide. The Linear Rail System consists of a stationary base with a load bearing carriage that travels along a custom-extruded wear resistant aluminum rail. A Haydon powered Linear Rail System uses either a Haydon size 17 hybrid external linear actuator or for greater performance, an optional size 17 hybrid double stack external linear actuator integrated into the slide for a complete single axis positioning system, or the system may be is provided with various leads and shaft end configurations that accommodate virtually any source of rotary power. The Linear Rail Systems also offer control of slide bearing play with a patent pending self adjusting linear bearing. Integrated "T" slots accommodate full length support and various mounting options. Loads easily attach to the compact moving carriage with your choice of four or six screws. Designed to metric global engineering standards, the rail provides end to end axial stability and precise motion system accuracy. For extreme control, the Linear Rail Systems can be used with Haydon's high precision anti-backlash nuts including "C" compression style, "W" wedge style, as well as Haydon freewheeling "N" style nuts. Typical applications include medical, instrumentation, plant automation, CNC equipment, food and beverage automation, packaging and custom machinery. ---Haydon Switch & Instrument

***Motor Controls for Wash-Down Applications***
MILWAUKEE, WI: Manufacturers seeking networked motor control solutions for wash-down environments now have several options from Rockwell Automation. The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 40 AC drive and the ArmorStart product lines have packaging options that are now rated by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) NEMA/UL Type 4X/12 (IP66/54) for indoor use. Ideal for food processing equipment, the PowerFlex 40 AC drive and ArmorStart NEMA/UL Type 4X/12 rating provides UL-listed protection against circulating dust and high-water pressure for equipment such as mixers, pumps, conveyor equipment, fans, packaging machinery, machine tool equipment, wood-working machinery and overhead door equipment. Pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and automotive manufacturing engineers rely on the NEMA/UL Type 4X/12 (IP66/54) rated products to help provide protection against dust, splashing water, hose-directed water, caustic chemicals and corrosion. This allows them to help protect their machine-mounted devices while meeting sanitation requirements. The PowerFlex 40 NEMA 4X AC drive gives users decentralized vector control for applications demanding low-speed and high-torque control and its National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) certification helps provide conformity with international food equipment standards. For customers looking for a "plug and play" design for power and control media to help minimize installation time, the ArmorStart NEMA 4X allows users to mount the motor controller near the motor. The "gland plate" design on the ArmorStart NEMA 4X offers provisions for conduit solutions or for a quick connect to the ArmorConnect power media. Both the PowerFlex 40 NEMA 4X and ArmorStart NEMA 4X can be mounted directly to the machine. ---Rockwell Automation
***TruMotion(TM) Timing Belts***
NEW HYDE PARK, NY: TruMotion(TM) Timing Belts feature timing belts with polymer-free nylon tooth facing for clean running performance. The new durable facing provides reduced dust, long belt life and reduced noise levels. The catalog, identified as D155, spotlights 746 inch and metric timing belts that feature: MXL, XL, L, GT(R)2, profiles. They offer outstanding performance and enhanced capacity through full tooth-to-pulley contact. Their cream-colored polymer compound body can withstand both high and low temperatures ranging from -40 degrees F to +220 degrees F. Their fiberglass tensile cords insure resistance to elongation and a high flex life. They are RoHS compliant. Pulleys designed to run with these TruMotion belts(TM) are stocked for immediate delivery at the SDP/SI eStore. Some of their many applications include their use in ATM's, cash registers, money counting machines, coin sorting, lottery and betting equipment, copiers, fax machines, printers, plotters, and medical equipment. ---Stock Drive Products/Sterling Instrument
***U-Joints with Boots Unfazed by Dirt, Corrosion, Washdown Fluids***
SPRINGFIELD, MA: Curtis Universal has developed U-joint couplings that can operate in environments that would destroy most other couplings. Drives in tire and rubber plants, foundries, masonry plants, wood chippers, stone crushers, grain elevators, pulp mills, food processing systems, and other systems are subject to premature failure from abrasives and corrosives. Curtis Universal has designed a series of u-joints that are protected by boots that shield the working parts of the joints from abrasives and corrosives. Typical applications include food processing machinery, conveyors, textile equipment, washers, aggregate conveyors, and farm implements. By blocking access to the working components of the u-joint, boots prevent accelerated wear cause by dirt and erosion. Boots also improve grease retention in high-speed applications, thus lengthening operating life. ---Curtis Universal
