***Compact Partition Inserter Uses Servo Technology to Ensure Precision and High-Speed Operation***
TARPON SPRINGS, FL: A-B-C's Model 70 partition inserter automatically opens and inserts lightweight chipboard or corrugated partitions into RSC, HSC, and Tablock cases at speeds to 35 cases per minute utilizing efficient servo technology that ensures positive, high speed reliability. The compact design is built for simplicity of operation. The machine operates in a two-step sequence- indexing and opening the partition in one stroke, then inserting it through guide funnels into the case in the second stroke- while maintaining positive control of both the case and partition through all stages for optimum productivity. PLC control provides precise timing and efficient operation. A-B-C's partition inserter offers several exclusive features to ensure reliable performance: a case indexer feeds cases independently to prevent misalignment from back-pressure; a mechanical case positioning device ensures precise case location below the partition guide funnels; active funnels guide the partition into the case. The versatile Model 70 is fully adjustable to run full height and shoulder height partitions with 6, 12, 24, or 48 cells. Settings for machine set up and changeover are quickly accessed through the touch screen control center. ---A-B-C Packaging Machine Corp.
***Fixed Mount Data Matrix Verifiers***
NATICK, MA: Cognex Corporation announces the new DataManTM 100V verifiers. Code quality is critical to achieving the read rates required for successful part traceability. DataMan 100V verifiers check the quality of Data MatrixTM codes to ensure only well marked parts enter the manufacturing and supply chains. A growing number of companies across the automotive, aerospace, packaging, electronics, healthcare and defense industries need verification to comply with contracts that require marks meet a certain level of quality. Others use verification for process control at the marking station to ensure the highest possible read rates and minimize scrap and downtime in their manufacturing process. "DataMan 100V sets a new price and performance standard for fixed-mount verifiers," said Carl Gerst, Cognex Senior Director & Business Unit Manager for ID Products. "They are easy to use and include automatic report generation that's perfect for MIL-STD compliance applications." The DataMan 100V measures label and direct part mark quality to all industry standards, including the Association for Automated Identification and Mobility (AIM) Direct Part Mark (DPM) Quality Guideline, which ensures consistent results across different verification platforms, manufacturing environments and industries as well as ISO15415 and AS9132. The DataMan 100V is available now for easy integration into marking, labeling or other types of equipment, or as a complete turnkey solution for contract compliance applications. ---Cognex Corp.

Federal Signal's Integrated Command Solution: The nucleus of a fully integrated safety and security system.
Today's industrial environments depend on a host of diverse systems to assure adequate workplace safety and security. These systems encompass everything from access control, CCTV and public address, to fire alarm warnings and intercommunications. Unfortunately, many of these systems are deployed at different times and for different reasons with the too-often consequence that they are either incompatible with one another, or driven by proprietary technologies.

***Hybrid "Fit for Purpose" Packaging***
CINCINNATI, OH: Storopack, Inc. introduces hybrid packaging - a combination of different types of cushioning and void fill products to achieve optimal protective packaging while reducing costs. This proven packaging method incorporates the best attributes of both types of products including air pillows, and protective pads to achieve "fit for purpose" packaging. This provides unsurpassed cushioning whether the product is being shipped across the plant or around the world. Among the products and industries benefiting from this new approach to 'in-the-box" packaging include automotive windshields, gift baskets, Venetian blinds, industrial products, wine baskets, power tools, and more. "The same packaging material is not ideally suited for each carton that a company ships," says Steve Sobel, "so we combine the best characteristics from a number of products. Paper is great for void fill but does not cushion as well as protective pads. Air pillows are ideal for block and brace, but protective pads yield better shock protection. Combining all of these means customers can eliminate virtually all of their custom packaging - to save both time and money." Companies that have switched to hybrid packaging report faster packing times. A Venetian blind manufacturer reduced their per-piece packaging time from 2 minutes to 45 seconds. This efficiency allows them to ship more packagers per year, and lead them to standardize on a single carton size (eliminating multiple sizes). Damage claims have been virtually eliminated with the adoption of fit-for-purpose packaging. Hybrid packaging eliminates costly misapplication of packaging materials by putting protection only where it is needed. This allows shippers to save on materials, handling and shipping. Technologies available for hybrid packaging include Storopack AIRplus(R) air pillows, air tubes and bubble-type cushioning, PAPERplus(R) paper cushioning, and PAD LOC™ moldable protective pads. For environmentally sensitive applications, PAD LOC™ Natural -- which is completely biodegradable - is available. ---Storopack Inc.
***Industrial Ink-Jet Printing System for Marking the Most Challenging Materials in Harsh Conditions***
PERTH AMBOY, NJ: HSAUSA, a leading supplier of customized industrial marking, coding and product handling solutions for the packaging industry, introduces the LC-16 Industrial Ink-Jet Printing System, designed to mark a variety of challenging substrates including pipes, bags, insulation sleeves, fabrics, and extruded packing. The LC-16 System is also designed to perform effectively in harsh conditions and is highly resistant to dust, humidity, vibrations, large variations in temperature, and aggressive substances. Using the electromagnetic drop-on-demand (DOD) technology, the LC-16 has a performance record of overcoming a variety of obstacles in industrial and packaging coding applications. All LC-16 series print-heads are suitable for a wide range of inks, such as water-based, MEK-based, alcohol-based and pigmented. Ken Darrow, the President of HSAUSA, says, "The LC-16 Industrial Ink-Jet Printing System is designed to mark almost any kind of material in even the most difficult of conditions.
