Ceramic air valves reduce maintenance
cost
The story line has been repeated endless times, maintenance
personnel have to deal with directional control valves that stopped
working far sooner than they should - slowing down or stopping
production. The valves could be located in a harsh environment, like a
tire plant or a foundry. Or it could be that the factory just routinely
has poor quality "house" compressed air. Rexroth Ceram™ valves to
the rescue. By using ceramic plates for basic sealing, the Ceram valve
can tolerate environmental conditions such as corrosion, dust, dirt and
sand that end up in an air line far better than traditional spool design
valves.

Chemical Resistant Paratubing Increases Flow
Lines Without Increasing Inventory
RAVENNA, OH: New capabilities and greater size ranges offer
Fluoroplastic Paratubing customers more versatility than ever before.
Fluoroplastic Paratubing from Parker TexLoc is a unique tube consisting
of 2 to 4 tubes longitudinally thermally welded to create one conduit
consisting of multiple individual tubes. Paratubing offers the ability
to run several fluid lines as one entity and then split the tubes apart
for branching to different connectors when needed. Paratubing is
available in Texflour™ FEP and PFA and is offered in sizes as
small as .031" ID x .030 wall up to 3" OD. These materials offer a
non-stick surface, are chemically inert and non-leaching and both
materials have a low refractive index, allowing for visual inspection by
operators. Also, paratubing is offered in colors allowing for distinct
identification of different fluid lines. --- Parker/Parflex

PVC Replacement Technology
KENT, OH: K-6100 Series TPE material can replace problematic PVC in
fluid pathway systems. The new PVC replacement meets Class VI standards
and is ISO 10993-5 and ISO 10003-4 certified. Free of halogen,
plasticizer, and animal derivatives, this tubing is recommended for use
in fluid storage, transportation, and delivery of fluid to the body
where PVC is used. It is autoclavable to 121°C and is radiation
sterilizable as well. Available in three durometers (65A, 75A, and 84A),
the K-6100 Series offers high clarity and a non-stick surface. This
material is non-toxic, non-hemolytic, and is both heat-weldable and
solvent-bondable. --- Kent Elastomer Products, Inc.
