Educational Pamphlet Details OSHA Combustible Dust National Emphasis Program
In response to frequent questions from powder handling plant officials regarding the OSHA "Combustible Dust National Emphasis Program (NEP)", BS&B has created a pamphlet that summarizes the program's key points. The pamphlet explains housekeeping and equipment measures required to meet OSHA's program standards, which closely mirror NFPA standards covering explosion prevention and protection (68-2007, 69-2008, 654-2006). A copy of the pamphlet is available for download. Click here

The applications driving home video surveillance range from simple doorbell cameras to remote surveillance and recording services. Companies are positioning do-it-yourself (DIY) surveillance kits that include cameras, network adapters, and PC and internet-based monitoring and recording software. Such systems also allow consumers to monitor their home remotely over the Internet, or even via their mobile phones.

***Impact™ Sport Sound Amplification Earmuffs***
SMITHFIELD, RI: Howard Leight has introduced a new ultraslim sound amplification earmuff specifically designed for use in intermittent and impact noise environments. Impact™ Sport sound amplification earmuffs incorporate high-tech patented electronics that amplify ambient sounds up to a safe 82 dBA, while at the same time providing NRR 22 protection against hazardous noise. This allows wearers to stay connected with their environment while their hearing is protected. Designed for increased comfort during long-term wear, Impact Sport earmuffs feature a padded leatherette headband that is easily adjustable for a secure, non-slip fit. Ultraslim earcups eliminate the bulk of traditional electronic earmuffs, enhancing comfort over the work day. A convenient folding design allows easy storage in a pocket or in a belt storage case, available separately. ---Howard Leight Industries by Sperian

***Voice-Capable Alarms Replace Ambiguous "Beep"***
COLUMBUS, OH: Sometimes a "beep" or "whoop" doesn't convey enough information to an operator of a machine. Floyd Bell Inc., manufacturer of popular Audiolarm® piezo electric buzzers, has solved this problem with a new line of high-quality digital audio alarms. New Announcer™ Series alarms from Floyd Bell play a pre-recorded audio message up to ten seconds at 95 dB. The same size as a standard piezo alarm, they provide the ability to replace an ambiguous beep with voice instructions or warnings. You have the ability to choose from standard warning messages ("Warning!"), send us your own file, or have Floyd Bell provide the production of the message at our in-house production studio! Announcer™ Series alarms come standard with quick connect terminals, a special grill designed for maximum acoustic output, and voltage range to fit your application. ---Floyd Bell Inc.
