Dolphins' Jason Taylor:
Animatronic!
|
Loads of controls in this 26-ft.-tall animatronic model of Miami
Dolphins' defensive end Jason Taylor. The display weighs more than a
ton, and includes two linear actuators in each foot. Two linear slides
(featuring DC servo drives) make it walk. Four actuators control the
hips and waist, and the head moves on a custom, 6-axis,
electromechanical motion base. For more information, simply click on the

***4-20 mA Loop Powered Ultrasonic Sensors
Internally Calculate Flow Rates and Volume ***
|
LOGAN, UT: Automation Products Group, Inc. (APG) introduces LPU-2428
Loop Powered Ultrasonic Level Sensors with microprocessor control to
internally perform volume, flow, and totalization calculations. These
IP65 rated sensors provide a 1 to 25 ft. (0.3 to 7.62 m) detection
range. They are specifically designed for liquid flow-rate and volume
measurement applications, and are also a good solution for determining
distance and level. For determining flow rates, formulas for a variety
of flumes and weirs are built into the sensors. Equation-based
calculations are also possible. LPU-2428 sensors provide an output
directly proportional to the flow rate, and users can select flow rate
units of per second, per minute, per hour, or per day. Standard volume
units include cubic feet, millions of cubic feet, gallons, cubic meters,
or liters. They are unaffected by the color/translucency, dielectric
constant, specific gravity or viscosity of the target. Internal
parameters are setup using a remote keypad & display unit. ---Automation
Products Group, Inc.

***Machines Without a Control Cabinet are
Possiible with Programmable Gateways***
|
MINNEAPOLIS, MN: TURCK's new IP 67 rated programmable gateways
utilize local network logic to perform complex tasks, and they are
compatible with TURCK's family of BL products. Using these programmable
gateways, along with TURCK's power supplies and I/O, makes machines
without a control cabinet a reality. The programmable gateways may be
used to control a variety of I/O including digital, analog, serial and
RFID. The BL programmable gateways can be used in standalone situations
or to reduce PLC load and network traffic in larger installations with
Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP™ and PROFIBUS(R) networks. Also
available as part of the CoDeSys programming suite is an OPC server
capable of reading real-time I/O data and serving it to any existing OPC
solution. ---Turck Inc.

***Miniature ML7 Photoelectric
Sensors***
|
TWINSBURG, OH: Pepperl+Fuchs' ML7 series miniature photoelectric
sensors are now available in retro-reflective mode for detecting clear
objects such as PET plastic bottles, clear shrink-wrap, glass, and clear
Mylar(R) film. ML7 retro-reflective mode sensors can detect clear
objects up to 3.5 meters away, and opaque objects up to 5.7 meters away.
ML7 retro-reflective mode sensors measure a very compact 31mm x 23mm x
11mm, making them the smallest photoelectric sensors available from
Pepperl+Fuchs for clear-object detection. They are quickly and easily
programmed with a single sensitivity adjustment that allows one of three
different contrast levels to be taught. As a result, these sensors can
deliver reliable, repeatable detection of low or high contrast
transparent media ranging from a clear web of shrink-wrap to colored
glass bottles. ---Pepperl+Fuchs
