***Fluoropolymer Tubing Increases Life of Heat
Exchangers***
|
FT. WORTH, TX: Parker-TexLoc Fluoropolymer FEP and PFA tubing can
be formed and welded into heat exchanger transport lines that offer a
non-stick, bacteria free transport of deionized water and other
corrosive media. Unlike steel, which is susceptible to corrosion and
bacteria build up, fluoropolymer tubing, with its >0.01% moisture
absorption, withstands almost any harsh chemicals, except those with
fluorine and alkali metals. Based on these properties, corrosion and
contaminants will not damage Fluoropolymer tubing and the result is a
leak free, low maintenance alternative to metallic tubing. In addition
to corrosion resistance, fluoropolymer tubing operates in temperatures
up to 500°F/260°C and has the lowest coefficient of friction
of any tube available, thus reducing downtime for cleaning and routine
maintenance. This reduced downtime can be a considerable savings and
coupled with the increased life, offers refineries a cost effective

***High-Efficiency Boilers***
|
PERU, IN: Bryan Steam LLC has introduced the HE-RV Series of forced
draft gas fired, "Flexible Water Tube" boilers. The HE-RV Series offers
a guaranteed efficiency of 85%, with the high combustion efficiency
resulting from a uniquely designed integrated surface heat extractor.
These boilers features 7 sq. ft. of heating surface per boiler
horsepower. They operate under normal operating temperatures, without
needing to provide for the expense of complications of special venting
and/or condensing material. The HE-RV Series is available in eight
models with inputs from 3,500 MBH to 8,000 MBH. The Bryan "Flexible
Water Tube" design provides for extremely fast internal circulation for
maximum heat transfer and operating efficiency. The flexibility of the
bent water tube design also eliminates all possible damage from "Thermal
Shock" and from stresses caused by poor or unequal internal circulation.
This feature is especially important for forced hot water heating
systems designed for higher temperatures and greater temperature drops.

***UV Leak Detection Lamp***
|
WESTBURY, NY: Spectronics Corporation has announced major design
improvements to their industry-leading BIB-150P ultraviolet inspection
lamp. This hand-held UV lamp, with its unique 150-watt
Built-In-Ballast™ bulb, is the world's top-selling unit for
air-conditioning and refrigeration leak detection. The new improvements
to the BIB-150P make it better than ever. A new housing, constructed of
a super-strong engineering polymer that is dent-proof and
impact-resistant, replaces the previous metal housing. The BIB-150P
lamp's new filter is more crack-resistant, and is now further protected
by a flexible, silicone rubber filter holder that is easily removable
for bulb and filter maintenance. The ergonomically designed handle is
repositioned for better balance, easier handling and reduced hand
fatigue over long periods of use. The upgraded BIB-150P lamp is UL
listed, CE approved and CSA approved. UV-absorbing safety glasses are
provided free with every lamp. The BIB-150P lamp pinpoints all air
conditioning and refrigeration leaks. The user simply scans the system
with the UV beam of the BIB-150P after the appropriate AR-GLO(R)
UV-fluorescent leak detection additive has been introduced and allowed
to circulate. Since the additive collects at all leak sites, the lamp
will immediately show the precise location of every leak with a bright
fluorescent glow. The additive safely remains in the system until the
refrigeration oil is changed, so future leaks are found as soon as the
