SPX Purchases APV
|
SPX Corp. has finalized its purchase of APV, a manufacturer of
process equipment and engineered products. APV, which will become a
part of SPX's flow-technology segment, makes pumps, valves, heat
exchangers and homogenizers for the food, dairy, beverage and

***Flexible Insulated Hose***
|
WARSAW, IN: This flexible, insulated hose operates over a wide
temperature range to keep extreme temperatures inside, whether hot or
cold, for a variety of application. Flexaust Flex-Vest(R) Insulated Hose
features 1" fiberglass insulation with R-value=4 that is sandwiched
between a double-ply silicone coated fiber-glass fabric inside layer,
reinforced with a spring steel wire helix, and an outer layer of
single-ply neoprene coated polyester fabric hose, also reinforced with a
spring steel wire helix. Keeping extreme temperatures inside with
minimal loss, this flexible hose operates from -65°F to 550°F.
Developed to promote energy savings and process efficiency, Flexaust
Flex-Vest(R) Insulated Hose is suited for air handling applications at
low positive or negative pressures and conforms to UL-94. It is offered
in 1" to 6" I.D. standard sizes and 12 ft. lengths with custom to 8"
I.D. and 25 ft. long. This hose is effective for industrial air movement

***Heated Spray System Eliminates Viscous
Coating Application Problems***
|
WHEATON, IL: A low pressure spray system designed for applying
heated viscous coatings such as chocolate has been released by Spraying
Systems Co. The AccuCoat Heated Spray System provides precise
temperature control and accurate application of the coating solution on
the target with minimal waste. The AccuCoat System uses closed-loop
temperature control to ensure liquid temperature is maintained and waste
caused by coatings that are too warm or too cool is eliminated. The
system controller monitors multiple temperature sensors and makes
automatic adjustments as needed to maintain the desired temperature.
Liquid lines and spray nozzles are fully jacketed; air lines can be
heated as well if needed. Unlike high pressure spray systems where
misting and overspray result in waste of the coating material and
excessive clean-up, the AccuCoat System applies a precise volume of the
liquid to the target with minimal excess. Waste, maintenance downtime
and labor costs are reduced. The AccuCoat Heated Spray System is
designed to maximize production. The system automatically adjusts for
line speed changes and allows multiple batch modes to be preset,
eliminating the need for manual intervention between batches. Common
uses for the AccuCoat System include spraying chocolate, sugar slurries,
oils and other ingredients and barriers on a wide range of products.
