4. CAL/OSHA: Allow Workers to Acclimate to
Heat
With the weather heating up, the Department of Industrial
Relations’ Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DIR/DOSH), also
known as Cal/OSHA, informs employers that allowing their employees to
acclimate to the heat is one of the best defenses against heat-related
illnesses and fatalities.

5. New Alliance Addresses NYC Construction
Hazards
OSHA and the New York City Department of Design and Construction
(DDC) formed an alliance to address construction hazards in the city’s
five boroughs, with plans to cross-train their inspectors and managers
on each agency’s construction safety standards, regulations and
procedures.
