TCA
elects Kaburick as 2010-11 chairman
John Kaburick, president of Earl L Henderson Trucking Company, Salem
IL, has been elected as the 2010-11 chairman of the Truckload Carriers
Association (TCA). The swearing-in ceremony took place during the
association’s recent annual convention at the Wynn Las Vegas in Las
Vegas NV.
Kaburick’s career in the motor carrier industry began in 1973 when
he was an owner-operator with just one truck. Two years later, he and a
partner launched a small trucking company that quickly grew into a
30-truck fleet. In 1977, Kaburick left the company to work as a salesman
for a local truck dealership. This position helped him build a network
of friends and contacts until 1990, when one of his long-time customers
made him an offer he could not refuse—ownership of Earl L Henderson
Trucking.
Highway
Hero finalists risk their lives to save other lives

crash; a Massachusetts truck driver noticed a burning vehicle more than
a quarter-mile off the highway on which he was driving, and made an
effort to save the unconscious driver; and an Oregon driver who had his
own rig struck in a multi-vehicle accident was able to pull one trapped
driver from a burning car and contribute to the rescue of two others
from another vehicle.
For the 2009 award, the finalists are George Lantzy of Turtle Creek
PA, Stephen Page of Gloucester MA, Jesse Lee Seal of Alma AR, and

Energy
Guard dock leveler seal system can prevent energy loss
Serco Company’s Energy Guard provides a superior perimeter seal
along the sides and rear hinge of dock levelers to block dirt, debris,
insects, and—most importantly—prevent energy loss.
The patent-pending design seals the gaps between the dock leveler and
concrete pit walls up to 9" above dock level, which is better than
traditional weather seal and under-leveler seals attached to the front
of the dock leveler. Energy Guard stops the air flow and thus stops heat
and energy loss.
Energy Guard is factory-installed on new equipment so the need
for field labor is eliminated.
