Material Handlers
Telehandler
Caterpillar introduces the
TL642 telehandler, which is the smallest in the TL Series. The TL642 has
a 6,500-pound lift capacity and a 42-foot maximum lift height. It comes
equipped with a Cat 3054C Tier 2 engine and a powershift transmission
that offers four speeds forward and three reverse for optimum travel
speed in either direction. An efficient hydraulic pump delivers full
hydraulic power even at low engine speeds for precise load placement and
reduced fuel consumption. A full flow-sharing hydraulic valve provides
the operator the use of three boom functions simultaneously to speed
load handling.

Material handling
solutions
Blue Giant adds new models
of pallet trucks, lift stackers and push stackers to provide a full
lineup of walk-behind material-handling solutions. The XPL Series of
self-propelled straddle-lift stackers feature hydraulic lift capacities
of 3,000 to 3,500 pounds. The XPS Series of intermediate-duty manual
push stackers is available with lift heights of 63 to 118 inches. The
XPT45 Series low-lift walkie pallet truck delivers 4,500 pounds of
lifting capacity and travel speeds up to 3.7 mph.

Power buggies
The Whiteman WBH-16 Series concrete and material handling power
buggies from Multiquip are
16-cubic-foot capacity units and are designed for landscape
applications, material sub-base distribution, jobsite cleanup, concrete
spreading, spot pouring and material transport. The WBH-16 Series is
powered by 13-hp Honda engines and comes with recoil and electric recoil
start. The WBH-16EAWD all-wheel drive model is powered by an 18-hp
Vanguard engine. The units feature a heavy-duty frame with a low center
of gravity for increased stability and traction, a 5.5-gallon fuel tank,
and a 6-inch dump height. All buggies can transport up to 2,500 pounds
on dual wheels, 1,000 pounds on single wheels and also meet the ASME
standard.

Abrasives & Blades
Diamond blades
The Contractor Pro high-speed diamond blades from Hilti are available in three versions
-- general purpose segmented, general purpose turbo and asphalt
segmented -- and are designed for cutting applications in reinforced
concrete, concrete block, clay brick and other masonry materials. The
segmented blades feature a .125-inch thickness and a stronger core for
use on low horsepower walk-behind saws. Standard with a 20 millimeter
arbor and 1-inch knockout, the blades can easily adapt to larger saws
and, although formulated for dry use, they can also be used wet to
reduce dust and noise.

Diamond blades
Makita introduces a new line of
diamond blades for fast and smooth cutting and for use in a variety of
applications including concrete, brick, block, asphalt, granite and sand
stone. The blades feature high-quality synthetic diamonds embedded into
the bonding matrix of each saw blade. The line includes segmented and
turbo diamond blades in a range of sizes. Blade sizes range from 4 to 16
inches, as well as multiple aggregate descriptions.

Lawn & Garden Equipment
Walk-behind blower
Merry Commercial blowers from MacKissic are designed for either
commercial or residential applications. A balanced high-impact
molded-poly impeller with a lifetime warranty contributes to reducing
weight and vibration, and results in longer engine life and less wear on
the blower and operator. A kickable discharge diverts the angle of
discharge from side to front and/or up and down.

Stump grinder
Bandit's new Model HB20
SideWinder offers a unique pivot-action base, allowing the operator to
keep the wheelbase stationary while using a smooth gliding motion back
and forth to grind stumps. The user can position the HB20 in close
proximity to the stump, release the pivot pin, and simply swing the
handlebars from side to side. Traditional handlebar units require
additional effort from the operator to reposition the entire machine,
including the undercarriage especially on uneven terrain.

Lighting
Light towers
Bull Dog Power
Products announces improvements to its 1,000-watt and 2,000-watt
Power Towers, such as the rectangular light heads that result in
30-percent more light coverage. The new Power Tower models include the
P1400W with a single 1,000-watt metal halide light and the P16000W
(pictured) with two 1,000-watt metal halide bulbs. The P14000 produces
110,000 lumens and lights up 109,000 square feet, while the P16000
delivers 220,000 lumens and covers 218,000 square feet.

Light tower series
The Wacker
light tower (LT) series features a power dual electric winch system,
which allows operators to easily and quickly raise and lower the mast.
The LT series is available in four models with the choice of a
Lombardini or Caterpillar engine, and with a manual or power winch. The
series also features an improved lighting system that offers brighter
illumination through the use of distinctive elliptical lighting fixtures
that allow the lamps to be mounted horizontally, allowing more light to
travel directly from the source to the work area.

Other Products
Folding saw
Featuring heavy-duty, die-cast construction, the Ideal Folding Saw offers
portability and the safety of a cutting edge that stashes away inside
its handle. For added comfort, its ergonomic handle has a non-slip
rubber grip that wicks away sweat while reducing stress on hand joints.
The folding saw accepts all standard 6-inch reciprocating saw blades and
is capable of cutting drywall, lumber, pipe or other tough building
materials. In the closed folded position the saw measures 7 inches in
length -- compact enough to fit inside a pocket or a small tool bag.

Slope packer
Rockland Manufacturing
introduces the Thompson Slope Packer, which eliminates the
time-consuming task of packing slopes by the traditional method of
walking them with a bulldozer or crawler tractor. As an attachment for a
standard excavator, the Slope Packer allows the operator to pack slopes
on any grade and in any soil condition from above or below the grade,
using the weight of the attachment and the flexibility of the boom to
compact the soil on the grade. The attachment is available in 4- 6- and
8-foot widths for a variety of excavator sizes.

Grapple system
The Exca-Beak is a new grapple system for compact excavators and
loader backhoes from Daniel
Manufacturing. Designed for hardscaping, demolition, feeding
chippers, tub grinders, concrete tear out, and firewood processing. With
no limited range of operation like a thumb, the Exca-Beak allows the
full operating range of the bucket. The Exca-Beak is available in all
popular quick-tach styles and can be supplied in pin-on configuration.
