Trencher attachments
Toro's line of trencher
attachments for the Dingo Compact utility loaders includes two models.
The high-speed trencher delivers an auger speed of 187 rpm at 11 gpm and
442 foot-pounds of torque at 3,000 psi for efficient trenching in soft
to medium soil conditions. Producing an auger speed of 120 rpm at 11 gpm
and 675 foot-pounds of torque at 3,000 psi, the Toro high-torque
trencher features a heavy-duty drive system that enhances performance in
any soil condition, from clay to rock. Both trencher attachments fit
most compact utility loaders. The trenchers can be outfitted with an
optional 2-foot boom for depths up to 29 inches.

Compact excavators
Ranging in size from 3 to 5 metric tons, the new John Deere 35D (pictured) and 50D
zero-tail-swing compact excavators provide reduced cycle times; better
comfort with updated controls and cab; and lower operating costs with
the introduction of auto-idle and longer oil-change intervals. Faster
operating speeds and more drawbar pull increase productivity when
transporting around the jobsite or backfilling. These features are
combined with auto-idle to reduce fuel consumption. A new, long arm and
heavy counterweight option provides an additional foot of dig depth and
reach. Automatic shifting between high and low travel speeds allows the
machine to automatically shift into low when more power is needed.

Lifting
Articulated lift
Snorkel introduces the
AB85RJ articulated lift, which has a maximum horizontal reach of 62
feet. The upper boom articulates from minus 25 degrees to 75 degrees;
the jib boom articulates 135 degrees (minus 65 to 70 degrees) and
rotates at the end of the main boom by 140 degrees (70 degrees each
way); and the platform rotation is 150 degrees (80 degrees
counterclockwise and 70 degrees clockwise). With an overall width of 8
feet, 6 inches, and approximate overall weight of 39,100 pounds the unit
can be loaded quickly and easily for transportation. Standard features
of 4-wheel drive, 4-wheel steer (crab, coordinated and front only) make
maneuvering the AB85RJ simple and effective.

For Contractors
Rammers
Multiquip's three new
MTX-Series rammers -- the MTX-70 (pictured), MTX-80 and MTX-90 --
are designed to take the fatigue and strain out of compaction. The
gasoline-powered models deliver up to 3,500 pounds of impact force for
effective compaction of cohesive and mixed soils. Each rammer is
designed for trench work, retaining walls, solidifying bases for
concrete slabs and footings, and confined areas. All three rammers
feature recoil start, travel speeds of up to 36 feet per minute, and
diaphragm carburetors that allow operators to transport the unit without
flooding the engine. The shoe width is 11.2 inches by 13.4 inches on
each model.

Cold-weather pump package
Thompson Pump introduces
the Arctic Knight cold weather diesel-driven pump package, which is
designed for use in rough weather conditions. The Arctic Knight consists
of a dry-priming pump with cold-weather enclosure and auto-pump drain
system. This system is designed for operations in frigid climates and
allows a diesel-driven pump to be used in weather as cold as minus 40 C.
The Arctic Knight is engineered to eliminate frozen liquids, engine
starting problems and cracked pump casings. The diesel-firing space
heater and automatic louver system eliminate the need for block heaters,
fuel heaters and thermal blankets while regulating the temperature
inside the enclosure.

Random crack saw
Designed to follow random crack patterns in asphalt and concrete
surfaces, General Equipment's
CS8 random crack saw utilizes 8-inch diameter, dry cut-type diamond
blades to produce smooth-sided cuts for proper crack-filling procedures.
Power is supplied by an 11-hp Honda engine equipped with a Cyclone-type
air filter system for maximum protection against fine-grained dust
contamination. A center-mounted blade configuration allows the CS8 to
center pivot about its own axis to more easily follow random crack
patterns.

Pavement breaker
DeWalt introduces the D25980K,
a heavy-duty pavement breaker that is designed for plumbers,
waterproofers, demolition crews and public utilities workers to break up
concrete and asphalt on the jobsite. DeWalt equipped the D25980K with
metal, automotive-style seals on the ram and piston, which help to
prevent dust and debris from entering the unit. The unit also comes
equipped with an active vibration control system called Shocks, that
combines shock mounted rubber coated handles with a counter balance
mechanism located in the barrel of the tool.

Electric water jet
The J-1450 Jet-Set electric water jet, from General Pipe Cleaners, is a compact
and portable drain cleaning machine designed for the rental industry.
The J-1450 uses high-pressure water to clear drain lines clogged with
grease, sand, sludge and ice. The water jet is powered by a 1 1/2 -hp
enclosed motor with GFI that drives a 1,500-psi, 17-gpm pump with
Vibra-pulsa to help the hose get around tight bends in the drain line.
It also includes a backflow check valve, thermal relief valve and inlet
filter as standard safety equipment.

Engines
Kohler introduces six
new models to its Command PRO line. For the commercial turf market, the
new 34-, 36- and 38-hp gasoline engines are designed to provide
serviceability and extend maintenance intervals. These new air-cooled,
V-twin models at 999 cc are available in both horizontal- and
vertical-shaft configurations and meet the new EPA Tier 3 and CARB
emissions requirements.

For Homeowners/Light Contractors
Gas-powered breaker
Designed for small jobs or working in remote locations, the new Red
Hawk gas-powered breaker from Chicago Pneumatic
Construction Tools offers quiet operation and zero set-up time for a
wide range of applications. The Red Hawk delivers an impact rate of
2,600 blows per minute and weighs 50 pounds. An assortment of 19 tools
and accessories are available for the Red Hawk, giving the unit
versatility for concrete breaking, asphalt cutting, digging, post
driving, soil compacting and tie-tamping. A silencing muffler reduces
operating noise to 107 dB.
