Skid-steer loader
The Komatsu KS1020-5
skid-steer loader has a long wheelbase, giving the operator a more
stable ride and a better platform for operating high-flow attachments.
The machine's hydraulic self-leveling bucket with 5,038-pound breakout
force enhances productivity on the jobsite. Two-speed travel allows for
low-impact shift-on-the-go speed changes between 6.5-mph work range and
10-mph travel range. The machine is also equipped with Komatsu's
anti-stall hydraulic system, designed to allow full utilization of
engine power.

Wheeled excavators
Volvo
Construction Equipment introduces the C-Series generation of its EW
range of wheeled excavators. The EW160C and EW180C (pictured) feature
improvements that can be found in almost every element of the machine:
engine, cab, hydraulics, substructure, boom/arm, controls, servicing and
environmental impact. However, most of the changes are related to the
engine and operator environment. The C-Series offers powerful Volvo Tier
3-compliant engines with Volvo's advanced combustion technology, which
is designed to deliver fuel efficiency. Producing high torque at low
rpm, this engine allows fast hydraulic response and efficient fuel
consumption. The engine management's anti-stall system balances maximum
available power and hydraulic output, preventing the engine from
becoming overloaded, regardless of engine speed or pump demand.

Compact utility loaders
The 950 tire and 1150 track models of compact utility loaders from
Ramrod, a division of Leon's
Mfg., are designed to be small enough to fit into confined areas,
according to manufacturers. Ramrod offers more than 60 quick-on,
quick-off attachments so operators can quickly tackle any job. The
machines' self-leveling loader arms are an exclusive feature that
enables the operator to maintain the angle of the attachment throughout
the raising and lowering process.

Paint booth
Landoll announces another
addition to its manufacturing facility. The new addition is comprised of
75,000 square feet which features a prep booth, two powder coat paint
booths 60 feet long, and a large natural gas powered baking oven that
can accommodate three large trailer frames. The benefits of powder coat
include a uniform, durable, high-quality, and attractive finish. The
result is a smooth, consistent durable exterior finish, which is more
resistant to the salt and chemicals used on winter roads. Six standard
colors are available with options for special color requests. The new
facility allows Landoll to offer standard feature of powder coat paint
on all trailers it manufactures.

Sanders
The EZ-Sand Orbital Sander from Clarke is designed with steel,
aluminum and iron components, and incorporates a handle that can rotate
360 degrees. This multi-purpose machine can be used to sand both large
and small areas on any project. Its compact design allows it to sand
edges, wall lines and closets, and its powerful three-motor, triple-head
design allows it to sand large, open areas. The sander is also equipped
to use either a standard dust bag or dust vacuum for dust collection.

Portable compressors
The Mobilair M100 is the latest addition to Kaeser's line of
fuel-efficient portable compressors. This unit produces 375 cfm and is
built for rugged durability and efficiency. The M100 features the Sigma
Profile rotary screw airend, heavy-duty Kubota diesel engine, and a
high-capacity cold-start battery. The weatherproofed canopy and
wide-opening gull wing doors allow quick access to all components for
easy servicing and also reduce noise levels. The steel chassis,
torsion-bar suspension, and instrument and light package ensure easy
portability and transport stability.

Air compressor
There is a reason hardhats are required on all construction sites:
to protect against construction materials. Atlas Copco has
taken the idea of hardhat protection and extended it to its equipment.
The XAS 185 JD7 HardHat portable air compressor features a polyethylene
shell that is capable of withstanding harsh environments and resisting
dents, rust corrosion and fading, as well as minimizing damage brought
on by the daily bumps and bangs received by small equipment. A
four-cylinder, 49-hp John Deere diesel engine and Atlas Copco's patented
rotary screw air-end generates 185 cfm. The controls, lights and
couplers are all tucked away and recessed to minimize the chance of
damage. Both the waist-high controls and the dual-air couplers are at
the rear of the machine for easy accessibility. The balance of the
HardHat makes it safe for one person to hook up to the machine and move
about the jobsite.

Anti-theft device
The Ball & Ring Hitch Lock from Equipment Lock is a universal
anti-theft device that fits nearly every type of trailer using a 1 7/8-,
2- or 2 5/16-inch ball- or ring-type hitch. When in place, it secures
the ball placement or ring hole, which prevents unauthorized persons
from hooking up and taking the trailer.

Cordless tools
Milwaukee Electric
Tool introduces the V18 system of lithium-ion powered cordless tools
and batteries. The hammer driver-drill features 550 inch-pounds of
torque for drilling larger holes and driving larger screws faster. A
compact, lightweight 18-volt lithium-ion battery delivers increased
runtime and fade-free power. The clutch bypass provides quick shifts
between drill, driver and hammer modes while maintaining clutch
position. The V18 batteries are compatible with older Milwaukee 18-volt
tools.
