Earth-Moving
Compact excavator
John Deere introduces the
17D compact excavator, which features adjustable-width tracks and a new
backfill blade with foldable end sections. When the tracks are retracted
and the blades' end sections folded, the machine fits through a 40-inch
wide opening. When fully extended to more than 50 inches, the
undercarriage provides maximum stability for operation. The battery,
fuel tank, hydraulic reservoir and coolant reservoir are conveniently
located behind a singe service door. In addition to the adjustable width
feature, the reduced tail-swing 17D also provides improved performance
specs, including 20-percent more horsepower, 8-percent more arm force
and 19-percent more bucket dig force.

Backhoe loader
The WB142-5 backhoe loader from Komatsu has an operating weight
of 14,513 pounds and comes equipped with a Komatsu 76-hp diesel engine.
The WB142-5 features high-output (37 gpm), tandem gear-pump hydraulic
system designed for maximum speed, power and control. It also has two
settings for the loader and the backhoe, so the operator can choose
between maximum performance and maximum fuel economy.

Lifting
Telehandler
The JLG model G6-23A telehandler
features less gross weight for ease of transport and a compact footprint
for crowded jobsites. The G6-23A has a rated capacity of 6,600 pounds
and a 22-foot, 7-inch maximum lift height. The telehandler also features
all-wheel steering and is powered by a 100-hp Deutz diesel engine with
4-wheel drive giving it 45-percent gradeability. A variety of
attachments are available including standard and sideshift carriages,
four types of buckets, a truss boom, a fork-mounted lift hook and three
sizes of pallet forks.

Telehandler
Mustang introduces the
model 519 telehandler, which offers 19 feet of lift height and a
5,500-pound maximum lift capacity on a compact frame. The frame of the
519 -- with a length of 148 inches, width of 71 inches and height of
76 inches -- makes the machine suited for tight jobsites. The unit has
an 11-foot turning radius and can fit under a finished doorway. A 64-hp
Deutz engine powers the 519, which boasts a two-speed hydraulic
transmission for low-end power while providing a transport speed up to
15 mph.

Floorcare
Surface grinder
Designed for smaller scale surface preparation projects, General Equipment Co.'s SG12/E
single-head surface grinder is powered by a totally enclosed, fan-cooled
1.5-hp electric motor. It features a single rotating disc with a
12-inch-wide working width. It offers a top disc rotation speed of 250
rpm for applications including concrete surface grinding, removing
mastics, adhesives, epoxies and urethanes.

Chain saw
Husqvarna introduces the
460 chain saw, which is powered by a 3.7-hp Husqvarna X-Torq engine. The
460 features a precision-forged three-piece crankshaft, heavy-duty
muffler and a metal clutch cover. For ease of operation and better
control, the 460 is equipped with a LowVib anti-vibration system that
helps isolate the handles of the saw from the engine, resulting in low
vibration levels.

Brush chipper
Rayco's RC 12 brush chipper
comes equipped with an 86-hp Cat diesel engine and Rayco's patented
Pulse downpressure system that ensures performance on any type of
material. Features like a self-adjusting hydraulic clutch, planetary
feed wheel motor, few grease points and a large service door over the
engine, ensure that maintenance costs and downtime are kept to a
minimum. Weighing in at more than 6,000 pounds, the RC 12 drum-style
chipper is built to withstand harsh jobsite conditions.

The Finn 160 hydroseeder is
designed for the landscaper or contractor that requires a fast and
economical solution for seeding jobs. The 600-gallon hydroseeder is
suited for small to mid-size hydroseeding projects on residential and
commercial properties, as well as sports fields, apartment and
condominium complexes, golf course, and parks.

Piercing tools
The new line of pneumatic piercing tools, Pierce Airrow II, from Ditch Witch is designed to perform
short- to medium-range compaction boring projects, pipe ramming and
pushing, and pipe pulling. The seven models range from 2 1/4 inches to 4
1/4 inches outside diameter, with or without threaded heads, and offer
trenchless solutions for a wide range of underground construction
professionals. The Pierce Airrow II line also features tapered buttress
thread joints, similar to drill pipe, that ensure positive locking and
maximize strength at all threaded connections. The Nord-Lock securing
system reinforces joints that are subject to extreme vibration or
dynamic loads. Optional equipment for Pierce Airrow II piercing tools
include nose expanders and replaceable heads that increase the diameter
of the bore hole, and clamp-on rear expanders and tail adapters for
pulling in PVC pipe or other material behind the tool.

Cordless saw kit
The Makita 18V LXT Lithium-ion
cordless 5 3/8-inch trim saw kit, model BSS501, weighs 5.7 pounds and is
compact in design. The trim saw is powered by a Makita-built,
high-torque motor that produces 3,600 rpm. The kit includes a
carbide-tipped 16T blade, two LXT Lithium-ion batteries, Makita's
25-minute Rapid Optimum Charger and a heavy-duty case. The trim saw
features an ergonomic shape and rubberized soft grip that delivers
better control and less operator fatigue. The large lock-off lever is
easy to operate, even while wearing gloves. The saw also includes a
built-in L.E.D. light for better illumination and more accurate work, as
well as a front-mounted blower to keep sawdust off the line of cut. The
BSS501 is a light, powerful cordless saw designed for professional
woodworkers and finishing carpenters. It is also suited for builders and
other professional trades making cuts overhead, in tight spaces, or
through light material that does not require a standard size circular
saw.

National Golf Club

announced that The Trump Organization has purchased a variety of John Deere equipment to aid in the
development of Trump National Golf Club, in Bedminster, N.J.
The Trump Organization is adding an additional 18 holes to the course,
bringing the total number of holes to 36. This project is under an
extremely tight deadline because Trump National is committed to hosting
the Junior U.S. Golf Open in 2009, which will require all additional 18
holes to be completed and mature before the tournament.

three John Deere machines from JESCO including an 850 LGP dozer with
ripper, a 270D excavator, the first D series excavator sold in New
Jersey and a 624J wheel loader. Trump is also currently renting an
