Backhoe

The Volvo
BL60 backhoe loader features a Volvo turbo diesel engine that delivers
83 hp of power. The boom features a closed, box-welded construction with
fewer components and fewer welds to give it improved strength. The BL60
provides a 14-foot, 9-inch dig depth and 11,864 pounds of bucket dig
force. A heater/defrost system is standard, and a rear-tilting,
one-piece hood allows for easy maintenance.

Material Handlers
Telescopic
handlers
The TX742, TX842 (pictured) and TX945 telescopic handlers from Case are designed for a variety of
load-and-carry and material-handling jobs requiring precise
maneuverability, increased traction and lift capacity in tough terrain.
Equipped with a Case Family IV 4.5-liter turbocharged engine, the TX742
is rated at 95 net hp, while the TX842 and TX945 are both rated at 108
net hp. The full powershift transmission on the units features four
forward and three reverse gears, providing smooth, on-the-go
forward-reverse shifting at any engine speed for more productive
operation. The TX742 and TX842 have a forward reach of 29 feet and the
TX945 has a forward reach of 31 feet.

Manitou introduces the MHT
10160 rough-terrain telescopic forklift, which offers users 36,000
pounds maximum lift capacity. The unit also features a lift capacity at
its maximum lift height of 31 feet, 10 inches at 15,430 pounds, and a
lift capacity at its maximum forward reach of 18 feet at 9,260 pounds.
The MHT 10160 is powered by a 175-hp Tier 3 Mercedes turbo diesel
engine.

Hammer
drill
Designed for small diameter drilling applications, the 1191VSRK
hammer drill from Bosch weighs
4.2 pounds. The lightweight tool offers drilling capacities of up to
1½-inches in wood, up to 5/8-inch in concrete and up to ½-inch in
steel. The tool can convert from rotation only to hammer drill mode with
a flip of a switch. A variable-speed trigger enables users to adjust to
a variety of working surfaces. A 360-degree auxiliary handle with
built-in quick-release depth gauge allows users to quickly tailor the
1191VSRK to a number of applications.

The MK-1503-S wet polishing kit from MK Diamond Products is designed for
handheld grinding and polishing of marble, porcelain, granite and
engineered stone. This polisher/grinder attaches to a standard hose to
enable a steady flow of water through a control valve. The unit features
a shaft lock for easy backer pad removal, quick release power switch for
safety, easily removable disc guard, and variable speed control. The
maximum polishing disc size is 5 inches. The kit comes with water hose

enclosed aluminum utility trailer designed for hauling all types of
cargo, including construction equipment, parts and tools. To make
loading onto the optional rear ramp easier, Featherlite introduces an
18-inch ramp extension for its 2008 models. Other options include
aluminum flooring, side door with screen, load lights, and an aluminum
lined ceiling and walls. The contractor package includes a side door,
protective gravel guard, stabilizer jacks, dome light, six recessed tie
downs and e-track on the walls for securing tools and equipment.

Metalworking features a 74-inch by 11-foot, 4-inch load-carrying
platform that can be hydraulically lowered to ground height. The
built-in ramp allows smooth, drive-on access for quickly loading or
unloading cargo or equipment. When lowered, the trailer allows a minimum
5-degree angle suited for low ground clearance or reduced gradeability

Compact
power unit
The Zahn R300 power unit from Ditch Witch includes a 30-hp Kohler
engine, operator’s console and articulated joint that enables the
front end to perform like a dedicated machine. The two-wheel-drive R300
powers two types of front-end trenchers, while the four-wheel-drive
InterChange unit accepts up to seven types of front ends: trencher,
plow, dumper, tiller, backhoe, stump grinder and a tool carrier that can
drive more than 40 quick-change attachments. The fully hydraulic,
articulated-steering InterChange connection allows operators to easily
trench a curve around trees, swimming pools and other obstacles. The
ride-on platform on the Zahn R300 is designed to absorb shock, minimize
fatigue and keep the operator out of dirt, mud and debris. The
operator’s console features soft-touch, color-coded, ergonomic
controls that are easy to grip and provide smooth, easy operation. The
platform is elevated to give the operator an unobstructed view of the
work. The Zahn R300 also comes standard with cruise control, which locks
in the ground speed and minimizes operator fatigue.
