High-Reach Equipment
Compact telehandler
The new Mustang Manufacturing Model 519 is a compact telehandler that offers 19 feet of lift height and 5,500 pounds of maximum lift capacity. A 64-hp Deutz diesel engine powers the 519, which has a two-speed hydraulic transmission for low-end power, while providing a quick transport speed up to 15 mph. To maximize maneuverability, the 519 features three steering modes -- 2-wheel, 4-wheel and crab-steer.

Hoist
The Scando 650 hoist from Alimak Hek is designed for both construction and permanent access in bridge building applications. It offers a large number of possible configurations with different doors and gates, speeds and payload capacities. The three available motors, which drive the system through a high efficiency gearbox, provide more hoist power while using as much as 40 percent less power than previous Scando models. Available in single- or twin-car configurations, the Scando 650 offers payloads of 1500 to 3200 kg/car and has a standard maximum lifting height of 400 meters, which can be increased upon request.

Articulated lift
The AB85RJ articulated lift from Snorkel has a maximum horizontal reach of 62 feet. The upper boom articulates from -25 degrees to 75 degrees; the jib boom articulates 135 degrees and rotates at the end of the main boom by 140 degrees; platform rotation is 150 degrees. Standard features include 4-wheel drive and 4-wheel steer.

Compressors
Rotary screw air compressors
Dominator mechanic trucks from Iowa Mold Tooling Co. now feature options that include the CAS2545 rotary screw air compressors, welder generator and redesigned drawer sets. The CAS2545 compressed air system is a 45-cfm hydraulically driver, rotary screw compressor with maximum operating pressure of 150 psi. The unit is a single-stage, pressure-lubricated compressor designed for mobile or industrial applications. The new compressor model provides high-volume air for use in air tools, tire service, sandblasting, painting and other compressed air needs.

Compressors
GrimmerSchmidt introduces new options on its compressors, including a generator option that supplies additional power for equipment such as welders or grinders, and allows the compressor and the generator to be used simultaneously. Another new feature is an integrated aftercooler option. Mounted on the engine radiator, it maintains an approach temperature within 20 degrees of ambient conditions through an air-to-air heat exchange. Moisture removal is by an automatic draining separator.

Lawn & Garden Equipment
Skid-steer loader
John Deere's 300 Series skid-steer loaders are designed with a low center of gravity to increase stability, which results in faster speeds and quicker cycle times. A long wheelbase provides a smoother ride with less fore-to-aft rocking. A patented vertical-lift boom provides a true vertical lift pattern, ensuring the machine remains stable when lifting heavy palletized loads from flat beds.

Electric greens mower
Jacobsen announces improvements to its all-electric walking greens mower, the E-Walk. A redesigned electronic control unit simplifies the functional options allowing operators to adjust the settings for reel and mow speeds by choosing from menu options on the easy-to-read LCD screen. Within the base unit, both the motors that power the reels and drive the traction system have been redesigned to be more durable.

Lighting
HID fixture
The 400W HID fixture (TL40HMT0) from McGill is designed to provide bright, energy-efficient temporary lighting on construction sites. The fixture outputs six footcandles of illumination at a 20-foot mounting height, meeting OSHA requirements for minimum illumination. Its rugged design -- including die-cast aluminum ballast housing with powder-coat paint -- makes it suitable for damp jobsites such as tunnels, bridges and marinas.

Portable lights
Magnum's portable lights boast a 2-section, tubular-steel construction frame and mast. The mast adjusts to a maximum height of 11 inches, casting light for general construction sites or emergency carry-on lighting. The MPL 1000 (pictured) houses one 1,000-watt metal-halide light and an easy-to-use hand spring lift for extending the mast. The MPL 2000 has two 1,000-watt metal-halide light fixtures with a manual winch mast adjustment and an easy-transport handle. Standard features include quick-disconnect cords, weather-proof control box, GFCI protection and individual ballast boxes with heat shields for safety.

Other Products
Hydraulic breaker attachment
The Bobcat HB1180 hydraulic breaker attachment has a new internal design with fewer moving parts, which reduces overall service time. Another major advancement, the company says, is the auto power feature, which is an automatic pressure regulator that ensures maximum performance of the hydraulic breaker, regardless of tool carrier hydraulic flow variations or changes in outdoor temperature. This means that each hydraulic breaker attachment delivers a high performance impact blow within a vast flow range of carriers.

Compactor
The Skid-Pac Model 1000 compactor from Allied Construction Products is designed for use in preparing streets prior to concrete paving, backfilling against curbs and gutters, smoothing and compacting sub-soil to prepare for sodding, and asphalt patch work repairs. Mounted on a skid steer, the 1000 can travel quickly over soil in flatwork, delivers increased impact energy, has an efficient four-function valve and maintenance-free oil splash bearing lubrication. The base plate compacts soil in flatwork while the skid steer is moving forward or in reverse.

Welder/generators
Miller Electric offers the Bobcat and Trailblazer gas-powered welder/generators with either a 24-hp Kohler or a 22-hp Robin engine option. The increased horsepower provides stronger welding output for running larger diameter wires and stronger generator power for sudden, heavier loads, such as motor starting. Miller's Auto-Crater feature on the Trailblazers helps eliminate crater-related DC TIG weld defects. New maintenance displays include an oil change countdown that shows the time remaining until the next oil change and an engine rpm display on the Trailblazers for easy diagnostics.
