Mini-Excavators
Compact
hydraulic excavator
Komatsu America
introduces the PC35MR-3 compact hydraulic excavator designed to bring
increased production and added operator comfort to contractors. Equipped
with the latest Komtrax technology, the PC35MR-3 sends machine operating
information to a secure website using wireless technology. Data such as
operating hours, machine location and fuel levels are relayed to the web
application for analysis. For operator comfort, a fully adjustable
suspension seat with retractable seatbelt lessens fatigue, and pilot
proportional joystick controls with wrist rests facilitate continuous,
comfortable operation.

Compact
excavators
The new ZX75US-3 and ZX85USB-3 Hitachi compact excavators
are suited for landscaping, light residential, urban renewal and
underground utilities applications. The new shape of the backfill blade
provides better crowding performance, additional machine stability and
is easier to see by the operator. The swing boom on the ZX85USB-3
enables parallel digging to walls, guardrails and foundations. Other
features include the turbo-charged Isuzu 4LE2X engine and Hitachi’s
patented HIOS III hydraulic system.

Lifting
Vertical
lift
Bil-Jax introduces the PT 10
vertical lift, which is lightweight, compact and durable for indoor or
outdoor use. The battery-powered PT 10 is designed for maintenance and
construction applications and typical users include workers in the
finishing trades, such as electrical contractors, heating and
ventilation, security installations and interior finishing contractors.
The vertical lift is designed to be moved and operated by one person.
The controls are simple with an up or down knob and an enable button.
The 5-foot by 29-inch platform allows for plenty of workspace and even
for two workers with a 500-pound load capacity. The unit also has
heavy-duty automatic locking casters. Stowed dimensions of 30 inches
wide and 6 feet, 3 inches high allow the PT 10 easy clearance through
standard doorways. The maximum working height is 16 feet, 1 inch.

Portable
pod lift
The JLG LiftPod is a personal and
portable lift that combines the portability of a ladder with the
stability of a work platform. With an enclosed platform and 14-foot
working height, the LiftPod allows workers to move within the basket,
hands-free, helping to increase safety. The platform contains a work
tray to carry tools and materials, increasing productivity and quality
of work. The LiftPod is easily portable between locations in a truck and
around the jobsite on wheels. Each module of the unit can be carried and
moved by one person, and it can be assembled in less than 30 seconds. It
is low maintenance and lightweight; each of the three LiftPod modules
weighs about 50 pounds for simple disassembly and transfer.

Breakers
Light-range
breaker
Tramac, of Doosan Infracore
International, introduces the SC-42 light-range breaker into its
SC-Series of hydraulic hammers. The SC-42 is designed for carriers from
11,000 to 26,500 pounds and has an operating weight of 967 pounds. With
an operating pressure of 1,812 psi, the SC-42 has a flow range of 14.5
to 26.4 gpm. This hydraulic breaker is rated at an impact energy class
of 1,250 foot-pounds and has an impact frequency range of 550 to 1,450
bpm. The tool diameter is 3.31 inches.

Breaker
hammer
Bosch introduces the Jack
11335 35-pound breaker hammer, which hits at 34 foot-pounds of impact
force and weighs 35 pounds. The unit features the active vibration
reduction handle that is a flexible two-handed design and dissipates
vibration by 40 percent. Each Jack breaker comes with the Bosch
self-sharpening star-point hex chisel, and Jack accommodates all
standard 1 1/8-inch hex steel and standard 1 1/8-inch air steel.

Concrete Masonry and Saws
Masonry
saw
Stow’s redesigned
Trak-14 masonry saw is designed to make longer cuts and can handle
larger pieces of material. The masonry saw can be disassembled,
transported and reassembled quickly and safely by one person. The saw
features a water tray that provides an additional 3 inches of cutting
length. The unit’s cutting head pivot arm has been relocated to a
support brace so that longer pieces of material can be cut in a single
pass, according to the manufacturer. Improved bladeshaft spindle
bearings and a modified cutting-head spring help reduce operator
fatigue.

Concrete
saw
The FS 520 from Husqvarna features the
patent-pending IntelliSeal bladeshaft system that allows for a minimum
of 250 maintenance-free hours and eliminates daily greasing of bearings.
The engine and bladeshaft-mounting system are other patent-pending
features of the FS 520. It reduces overall vibration of the saw that
produces better overall cutting performance, the maker says. It also
significantly reduces vibration at the operator handles. The handlebar
system easily adjusts to the operator’s preference and the handles can
be folded for transportation and storage.

Concrete
chain saws
ICS Blount introduces the
680GC gas-powered concrete chain saw that features improvements to
carburetion, the starting system and airflow. The saw weighs 21 pounds
and requires standard garden hose water pressure for its wet-cutting
system. Its 80-cc, 2-stroke engine generates about 6 hp and the unit
features special seals and filtration to protect key components from
harsh environments in concrete cutting. ICS also offers the 680GC with
its RentMax diamond chain system. Available with either 12- or 14-inch
guide bars, the unit is able to plunge cut to 14 inches and make square
corners with no overcuts in reinforced concrete, natural stone and
masonry.

Scaffolding
Drywall
lifter
The Panellift Model 439 from Telpro is a manual multi-stage
chain-drive drywall lifter designed to work alone when installing
wallboard to walls, and cathedral and flat ceilings. The Panellift has a
load height of 35 inches, and maximum reach of 14 feet, 5 inches and a
two-way overload-preventing torque limiter.

Modular
system
The Alimak
Hek/ Modular System is designed to reduce the number of components
and maximize exchangeability of components between different machine
types. The new mast-climbing transport platform product is broken down
into three ranges: light, medium and heavy. Within each range, using
three basic components, a series of various machines can be configured
consisting of mast-climbing work platforms and transport platforms. All
models operate on the same basic components. An Alimak mast and a single
drive unit can be assembled to configure either a mast-climbing work
platform or a transport platform, thus reducing the initial investment.
The system is designed for higher lifting capacity and work platform
areas are flexible and can be specified for each individual project.
