Lifting
Telehandler
Whether it is needed to lift or set materials around a worksite, the Genie GTH-1056 telehandler is designed for moving heavy loads with a maximum lift capacity up to 10,000 pounds. The GTH-1056 features an outreach of 40 feet and lifts 4,000 pounds to 56 feet. With an outside turning radius of just under 14 feet and three different steering modes — crab, coordinated and front wheel — Genie offers the choice of a turbo-charged, 4-cylinder Perkins or John Deere diesel engine, as well as features standard 4-wheel drive for easy maneuverability around tight jobsites. With twin axle-mounted stabilizers, as well as a frame-leveling chassis, operators can make side-to-side adjustments on up to 10-degree side slopes. Terrainability is also enhanced with a 20.5-inch break-over ground clearance, which allows operators to precisely position the machine.

Backhoes & Attachments
Hydraulic breaker attachment
The MB 700 hydraulic breaker attachment from Atlas Copco Construction Tools is designed for light demolition work, foundation removal, secondary rock breaking and trenching. The MB 700 has a service weight of 1,650 pounds and features Krupp percussion technology. Suitable for use with excavators in the 10- to 18-metric ton weight class, the MB 700 has only two moving parts and no high-pressure accumulator, improving reliability and limiting maintenance.

Backhoe attachment
Bobcat offers a backhoe attachment designed to turn a loader into an excavator. Applications include landscaping and nursery work, sewage systems and septic tanks, and water and power lines. The attachment permits good down-hole visibility, bucket widths of 9 to 39 inches, and maximum digging depths from 5 to 11 feet. Rear stabilizers are available for certain loader models.

Engines
Engines
The F32 engine from Fiat Powertrain Technologies’ F Series engines is designed for a wide range of applications including construction equipment, power generation and other stationary applications. Lightweight and fuel efficient, the engine is sized for small mobile equipment. The F Series engines are designed to specifically address off road and stationary applications. Available in 74, 82 and 87 hp, rated at 2,500 rpm, the engines have a 4-cylinder in-line structure with 3.2 liter of total displacement.

Gasoline-powered engine
Briggs & Stratton introduces the gasoline-powered electronic fuel injection (EFI) model engine, which is an extension of the company’s Vanguard 3/LC three-cylinder, liquid-cooled commercial engine line. The EFI system automatically adjusts engine settings in real time for quick, no-choke cold starts, and to compensate for altitude and environmental variables. The engine is rated at 34 gross hp and an advanced 32-bit engine control unit provides responsive performance with enhanced driveability, the maker says. On-board diagnostics built into the unit are designed to provide accurate troubleshooting for reduced equipment downtime.

Compact engine
Deutz introduces a compact engine 2010 series with power outputs up to 75 kW. These engines are turbocharged four-cylinder models with a displacement of 3.47 liters. Depending on the power and torque requirements, they are offered with or without charge air cooling. The version without charge air cooling can deliver a maximum power output of 64 kW and the unit with charge air cooling 74.9 kW. The engines operate with direct fuel injection and are provided with a mechanical governor as standard equipment. An electronic engine governor will be available as an option.

Pumps
Centrifugal trash pumps
Wacker Neuson introduces 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-inch pumps to its line of centrifugal trash pumps. The 2-inch, PT 2 Series models (pictured) weigh 96 pounds and can pump up to 210 gpm with solids up to 1 inch. The PT 3, 3-inch series is available in gasoline and diesel models. All PT 3 Series pumps are capable of handling up to 400 gpm with solids sizes up to 1.5 inches. The 4-inch, PTS 4V weighs 360 pounds and can pump up to 705 gpm with solids up to 2 inches. A 16-hp Vanguard engine with electric start powers the unit. The PT 6LT (trailer) and PT 6LS (skid), 6-inch models can pump up to 1,300 gpm with solids up to 2 inches.

Diaphragm pump
Subaru introduces the PTX301D diaphragm pump featuring 3-inch suction and discharge ports. The self-priming PTX301D pumps up to 250 gpm at a maximum pressure of 21 psi and boasts a maximum suction lift of 25 feet and a maximum lift head of 49 feet. The design isolates the pump mechanism from the fluid being moved, making the model designed for pumping abrasives, slurries, re-circulated water and other high-solid-material content, up to 2 inches, that can not be handled by a centrifugal pump.

Other Products
Asset management tool
The GlobalTracs Lite system from Qualcomm is an asset management tool that provides actionable, operational and location information with management applications. As the new addition to Qualcomm’s suite for fleet management, the GT Lite system complements the GlobalTracs system, offering many of the same features and functions and it is suitable for installation on a more broad range of equipment. Fleet managers can use the new system as a standalone solution to help manage and secure entire fleets, or it can be used in a mixed-fleet environment with the GlobalTracs equipment management system. The GlobalTracs Lite system includes proactive theft-prevention and recovery features, including a back-up battery to alert owners if the power is cut. Engine-start curfew alerts help companies monitor after-hours use of their equipment for enhanced asset management and security. Assisted-GPS technology enables visibility inside buildings and locations without a clear view of the sky. Updated engine-hour data shows when equipment is running, which helps owners to identify underutilized equipment that can be re-deployed to increase productivity.

Locating system
The 250R/T locating system from Ditch Witch is designed to locate and avoid buried telephone, CATV, power, gas and water lines. Consisting of a 250T transmitter and 250R receiver, this lightweight system features intuitive controls, an easy-to-read display and depth estimation up to 15 feet. The 250R/T can locate even when signals are either weak or strong. Tones are derived from the actual signals radiating from pipes or cables. The display is backlit and reinforced with a scratch-resistant coating for optimal visibility day and night. It can apply 33-kHz signals via direct connect, induction clamp, or other optional accessories. The unit also contains two-thirds fewer components than similar models, which means fewer chances of mechanical or electrical interruption, according to the company. The system also features a rugged design and moisture-resistant case that stands up to long-term use and tough weather conditions.
