Earth-Moving
Compact
loaders
November 13, 2008
Yanmar’s new V-Series compact
wheel loaders are built around quiet and fuel-efficient Yanmar diesel
engines. For multi-purpose versatility, the V3-6 and V4-6 (pictured)
loaders can be equipped with an optional mechanical Quick-Coupler that
fits most skid-steer attachments. The new models offer a reduced overall
height to make them more compatible with enclosed carrier loading and
unloading operations. This lower profile also improves the machine’s
center of gravity promoting greater stability in the process. A fully
automatic drive mode allows the 6,750-pound V3-6 and 7,651-pound V4-6
loaders to accelerate smoothly and change gears with no operator input.
Lifting capacity for both loaders is rated at 5,760 pounds for the V3-6
and 7,451 pounds for the larger V4-6. Forward and reverse movement is
also activated by a column-shifted lever with a safety lock so the
loader cannot accidentally travel in the wrong direction. A parking
brake is provided to secure a static position for a more stable work
platform.

Loader/tool
carrier
November 13, 2008
Case Construction Equipment
introduces the 570M XT Series 3 loader/tool carrier with a new
Tier-3-compliant Case Family III turbocharged engine that delivers 79
net hp. The series features a single-lever loader control designed for
easy effort and ergonomic comfort. Push-button differential lock and
transmission declutch are located close at hand. An automatic
self-leveling feature minimizes bucket spills as the operator raises the
loader. The optional Ride Control feature helps to cushion the loader
arms to prevent spills when carrying full loads over rough terrain.

hydraulic excavator
November 13, 2008
John Deere introduces the
75D mid-sized hydraulic excavator that features a 54-net hp EPA Interim
Tier-4 emission standards diesel engine and Deere’s Powerwise
engine/hydraulic management system that is designed to maximize power
output, save fuel and deliver smooth, multifunction operation. The
convenient boom, reduced-tail-swing unit weighs in at 17,637 pounds, has
a 15-foot, 1-inch dig depth and is suited for light residential, site
development, underground and landscaping applications. Optional rubber
tracks allow operators to cross driveways and sidewalks without damage.

Telehandlers
Telehandler
November 13, 2008
The Gradall Model G6-42P
telehandler features a 6,600-pound maximum lift capacity and a
6,000-pound capacity at its 42-foot maximum lift height. The unit’s
90-degree rear-pivot steering provides maneuverability on crowded
jobsites. Powered by a 99-hp John Deere 4045D engine, the no-shift
hydrostatic drive train and a high-bias limited slip-front axle provide
smoother operation.

High-boom
lifts
November 13, 2008
JCB introduces the first
four models in a new range of high-boom lift and place Loadall
telescopic handlers. The models feature larger cabs, side-mounted
Tier-3-compliant engines, an easy-to-use, plus-pattern servo-hydraulic
control lever, and rear-axle stabilization on all but the smallest
models. The Loadall 506-36, which replaces the 506C, provides a lift
capacity of 6,000 pounds and a working height of 36 feet. A second
machine, the 507-42, replaces the 506CHL and provides a 7,000-pound
maximum lift capacity and a working lift height of 42 feet. A third
machine, the 509-42, also has a 42-foot lift height, but can handle
loads up to 9,000 pounds. It replaces the 508C model. Topping the range
is a new machine with a 10,000-pound lift capacity and a working height
of 56 feet.

Saws
Circular
saw
November 13, 2008
The C7BMR 7¼-inch pro-grade circular saw from Hitachi Power Tools features
patented Internal Double Insulation technology, which reduces vibration
and wear, extending tool life more than 200 percent. Designed with a
15-amp motor and electric brake for safety, it cuts quickly and smoothly
through framing materials. The IDI technology enables the aluminum
housing to be intertwined with an injection molded inner nylon core for
improved reliability.

Walk-behind
saw
November 13, 2008
The SS4030 Series walk-behind saw from Sanders Saws is powered with a
31-hp Deutz diesel engine, and is equipped with a fully enclosed
self-lubricated blade shaft assembly, requiring no greasing. This
feature promotes accurate sawing, precise tracking and prevents
premature blade wear associated with common pillow-block bearings. The
saw features a 30-inch blade capacity with 12-inch maximum cutting
depth, maintenance-free wheel drive system and automatic parking brake
system. The SS4030 also is designed with Independent Anti-Vibration
console isolators, which reduce the vibration to the handlebars and to
the overall machine.

Tree
spade attachments
November 13, 2008
Bobcat introduces a line of
tree spade attachments that are available in five sizes and in
truncated, modified and cone blade configurations. The tree spades are
available in sizes of 24, 28, 32, 36 and 44 inches. The truncated blade
configuration has a 22-degree tower angle that provides a better stand
on the tree when placed in the basket, and is best for use in loamy
soils. The modified blades have a tower angle of 25 degrees, which
allows the tree to be placed in baskets. The cone blade configuration
works best in sandy soils.

Asphalt
repair technology
November 13, 2008
Kasi
Infrared introduces the Pro Heat Minute Man system, which is an
asphalt repair technology designed to blend new asphalt right in with
the original, leaving no seam. With this technology, a two-person crew
can perform a pavement restoration job in about 30 minutes, compared to
traditional cut-and-fill methods that can take a five- to six-person
crew up to two days. Options for the system include an LED light, which
flashes to indicate asphalt has been heated for the appropriate time to
prevent burning.

Work
light
November 13, 2008
The DeWalt DC020
cordless/corded fluorescent work light is designed for plumbers,
electricians, mechanical and general contractors for use wherever
additional lighting is required, such as crawl spaces and basements. The
unit can be powered by AC power and all 12- to 18-volt DeWalt batteries,
including the 18V Nano technology batteries. The lightweight work light
has a 38-watt fluorescent bulb that is durable and offers longer life.
It also has a low-amp draw and runs at a much cooler temperature when
compared to halogen portable work lights. A pivoting support arm
provides increased versatility, and the compact design allows the end
user to easily transport, store and set up the work light.

Combustible
gas sniffer
November 13, 2008
Ridgid introduces the Micro
CG-100 combustible gas sniffer that is designed to quickly and
accurately detect gas leakages. Offering Tri-Mode Detection, an operator
is alerted to the presence of combustible gas with a visible signal,
audible alarm or silent vibration. It is designed for users who work in
maintenance, utility, plumbing or HVAC. The silent vibration alert
vibrates more frequently as the user gets closer to the gas, and is
suited for noisy daytime construction environments and to avoid
unnecessary alarm. A 16-inch black probe hose provides easy access to
confined spaces, and is secured by a built-in clip for secure storage.
It is also outfitted with an LED light at the end of the probe to help
illuminate dark spaces.
