Mini-Excavators
Mini
hydraulic excavators
Three D-Series mini hydraulic excavators join the Caterpillar line. The 307D is a
direct replacement for the 307C. The 308D CR (pictured), a compact
radius machine that works productively in tight spaces, replaces the
308C CR. A new model, the 308D CR SB, combines the compact radius design
with a swing boom for more versatility. The new models outperform their
predecessors with 22-percent higher bucket forces and 10-percent higher
stick forces. Lift capacity has been increased with the addition of a
larger counterweight, and a 15-percent increase in traction forces
improves dozing and turning performance. A new turbocharged 54-hp
Mitsubishi 4M40TL engine that meets Tier-4 emissions regulations powers
each model.

Mini-excavators
Yanmar offers the Vi027-5 and
Vi035-5 (pictured), two mini-excavators in the 6,300- and 7,700-pound
class. Features include increased breakout forces with dig depths of 9
feet, 6 inches and 11 feet, 4 inches, and a universal boom design that
is 1.5 times thicker than previous models. The Vi035-5 model features an
increase of 3.3-hp and optional air conditioning is available when the
cabin is ordered. Both models offer improved fuel economy and larger
fuel tanks.

Manitou North America launches
the MRT 2150P Privilege Series, which features a more powerful Tier-3
Mercedes engine and improvements to the operator’s compartment. The
larger cab has improved visibility due to its curved windshield and new
instrument panel. The MRT 2150 offers a 10,000-pound capacity with 67
feet, 7 inches of lift height, as well as continuous rotation and
frame-leveling for easy placement of loads on any jobsite. Ergonomic
joysticks are another addition to the cab, plus all fluids are now
housed outside the cab for a cleaner operating environment.

Mortar
buggy
Stone Construction
Equipment has added a 21-cubic-foot mortar buggy to the Stone Mud
Buggy line — the SB2100. The new model has a load capacity of 3,200
pounds with the versatility of a walk-behind or ride-on machine, and is
powered by a 13-hp Honda engine. The SB2100 is designed to move
concrete, mortar, gravel, dirt and debris around jobsites. The
one-piece, lift-away polyethylene engine cover requires no tools to
remove and can be lifted away for full access to the engine compartment
without dumping the tub. A large 8-gallon fuel tank provides longer run
times while the 7-gallon removable hydraulic tank allows for cooler
running.

Concrete Masonry and Saws
Hand-held
saw
The Sawtec hand-held Dekrasaw from Blastrac is designed for the decorative
concrete industry and can be used by one person to cut and score
decorative lines into concrete. This 110-volt saw is composed of an
aluminum base and features an optional pivot base that can be used for
radial cuts to create geometric shapes, arcs and circles. For safety and
conveniences, a spring-loaded head allows users to easily push the blade
down to cut and then automatically retracts the blade when not in use.
The cutting depth is adjusted with a thumb screw requiring no tools.

Hydraulic-powered
cut-off saws
Designed for a variety of applications, Atlas Copco’s
hydraulic-powered cut-off saws cut through a wide range of materials,
including concrete, asphalt, cement, brick and steel. The 14-inch blade
on the LS 14 provides a cutting depth of 5.3 inches, while the 16-inch
LS 16 offers a cutting depth of 6.3 inches. These units feature a
power-on-demand system that automatically decreases the pack’s engine
speed when a tool is disengaged, reducing fuel consumption and extending
the life of the power pack. Standard features include a hose to deliver
water to a diamond blade for wet cutting and a 6.6-foot hydraulic
twin-whip hose with flat-face, quick-release couplings for easy
connection to the power pack hose or to an extension hose.

Cut-off
saws
Shindaiwa introduces two
professional-grade engine cut-off saws. The EC7500 is designed for a
12-inch wheel capacity, and the EC7600 (pictured) is designed for a
14-inch wheel capacity. The saws are powered by a 73.5-cc displacement,
4.5-hp engine and feature a high-torque-designed transmission for
improved cutting performance. Operators can rotate the drivetrain from
standard incline cutting to flush cutting. To reduce operator fatigue
and vibration on the hands, an ergonomically designed front handle and
full 6-point anti-vibe system come standard.

Welders
Welder/generator
The Campion 10,000 welder/generator from Hobart Welding Products is
powered by a 20-hp twin-cycle Kohler engine or a 22-hp Subaru engine.
The unit produces 10,000 watts of peak auxiliary power and a 210-amp
constant current, as well as a DC weld output at 60-percent duty cycle.
It can run for up to 9 hours on one 10-gallon tank of gas under a steady
load of 4,000 watts. The Champion 10,000 features Hobart’s patented
Field Current Control technology for smooth stick arc starts with
minimal sticking of the rod.

Welder
The DLW300ESA welder from Multiquip features constant current
and constant voltage, delivering up to 300 amps of DC welding power and
providing up to 10.5kW of 120/240-volt AC power. The welder includes
thermal overload, water and oil level shut-downs. Multiple electric AC
outlets for operator convenience come standard as does a brushless
alternator design to lower maintenance requirements, and a self-priming
fuel system for instant restarts.

Other Products
Pneumatic
vacuums
Nortech Corp. offers pneumatic
vacuums capable of collecting both wet and dry materials including
liquid, sludge, metal chips, dirt, gravel, pellets and other materials.
These industrial-grade vacuums operate on standard shop compressed air,
which rushes through the specially designed venturi chamber and creates
suction at the hose. These units come in 4-gallon to 55-gallon
capacities, in both single and double venturi power.

Multi-purpose
laser
Trimble introduces the Spectra
Precision HV101 multi-purpose laser, which is a rugged, cost-effective
horizontal and vertical laser used for a variety of interior and general
construction applications. It offers fully automatic electronic
self-leveling in both horizontal and vertical planes. Its visible beam
can be pointed or rotated at four reset speeds.

Hydraulic
forklift scale
Keytroller
introduces the Vanguard hydraulic forklift scale designed to provide
accuracy to within .2-percent of the rated load. The unit uses a
hydraulic bypass manifold module, which is mounted behind the mast on
the forklift’s firewall. Hydraulic fluid (under pressure from the
load) bypasses through the module where the pressure sensor reads about
150 pressure values in 5 seconds as the load slowly lowers about 20
inches. These pressure readings are averaged by the device and most of
the pressure errors are removed or significantly reduced.
