ARA's Rental Show Sparked by Improved Attendance, Solid Buying

Increased attendance, solid buying and a more upbeat attitude than has been seen in years sparked The Rental Show in New Orleans this week. American Rental Association officials told RER pre-registration figures topped total attendance at last year’s Las Vegas show and show floor traffic for the most part bore out that assessment.

Volvo Rents Acquires Arizona Rentals

Volvo Rents continued its expansion this week with the acquisition of Arizona Rentals, a four-location former Volvo Rents franchise business with stores in Eloy, Miami, Thatcher and Tucson, Ariz. Volvo Rents now has five locations in Arizona, having recently acquired Phoenix-based Papé Rents.
Leppo Rents Relocates Elyria Facility to Larger Building

Bobcat of Cleveland West/Leppo Rents has relocated its Elyria, Ohio, rental and sales facility to a 10,000-square-foot-under-roof location, Cleveland.com is reporting. Company chairman Dale Leppo said the company bought an existing location that it is converting to the company’s needs.
Hertz Schedules Fourth Quarter and Full-Year 2011 Conference Call

Hertz Global Holdings will hold a conference call to discuss 2011 fourth quarter and full-year earnings results Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. ET. A press release detailing financial results will be issued after market close Feb. 22.

Gorman-Rupp Reports Record Sales of $359 Million in Full-Year 2011

The Gorman-Rupp Co. this week reported record sales, earnings and incoming orders for the year ended Dec. 31, 2011. Net sales during 2011 increased 21.1 percent to a record $359.5 million compared to $296.8 million during 2010. International sales increased 2 percent and were 33 percent of total sales in 2011.
Terex to Host Q4 and Year-End 2011 Earnings Call February 16

Terex Corp. will release its fourth quarter and year-end 2011 financial results on Wednesday, Feb. 15, after market close. The company will host a conference call to review the financial results on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. EST. Chairman and CEO Ron DeFeo, will host the call.

Generac Announces $8-$10 Million Headquarters Remodel and Expansion

Generac Power Systems, a leading manufacturer of backup power generation equipment, this week announced it will commit $5 to $6 million to expand and remodel its Waukesha, Wis., headquarters and an additional $3 to $4 million in upgrades to create a technical center. The $8 to $10 million total investment will result in more jobs, more innovation and more technology for Generac, the manufacturing sector and the state of Wisconsin, the company said.
