1. The Authority to "Clear the Road" in Texas – In Action!
In Texas, the authority to remove personal property if it endangers the public has been put to the test with safe results.

2. IAFC Reports on Fireground Noise and Digital Radio Transmissions
The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Digital Project Working Group has released its Interim Report and Recommendations: Fireground Noise and Digital Radio Transmissions. This report culminates a year's work with public-safety organizations, manufacturers and the laboratory services of the federal government to determine the extent of radio transmission problems associated with fireground noise.

3. Terrorism Risk Determines Homeland Security Spending
A new study in Policy Studies Journal reveals that measures of terrorism risk are found to be positive determinants of homeland security funding, while measures of political influence and party affiliation of elected officials do not affect distribution of grants.

4. Traffic Is Hazardous to Firefighters' Health
Studies show that more firefighters die in vehicle crashes on the way to or from a fire than die in the fires themselves.

5. Colorado Community Utilizing City-Wide Monitoring and Surveillance
