Survey Says: College Students Want Podcasting By Linda Seid Frembes
A recent survey released by D&M Professional, owner of Denon Professional and Marantz Professional brands, found that college students want podcasting technology, well, now. That comes as no surprise considering that, according to Pew Research, 84 percent of teenagers (ages 12-17) report owning at least one personal media device: a desktop or laptop computer, a cell phone, or a personal digital assistant (PDA). Forty-four percent of teens say they have two or more devices, while 12 percent have three and 2 percent report having all four of those types of devices. As these teens enter college, universities are being pushed to provide services that can use their features and turn them into teaching and learning devices. more>>

Community Pumps Up Boston College Alumni Stadium
Boston College (BC) is known for passionate sports fans, and being heard over the roar of the enthusiastic crowds at BC's Alumni Stadium is no easy task. The 45,000-seat stadium recently completed a seven-month sound-system renovation that included a new, state-of-the-art distributed audio system.

The new system utilizes a combination of nearly 300 Community WET and R-Series weather-resistant loudspeakers throughout the venue, including 60 WET2W8 two-way systems and 28 WET920H three-way cabinets, as well as more than 150 R.25 and R.5 horn-loaded two-way systems to cover the general seating areas, concourses, and restrooms. In addition, the 67 skyboxes located around the stadium received new speaker systems. more>>

Best U.S. Colleges Adopt AxisTV to Deliver Visual Communications
Visix welcomed the announcement of U.S. News & World Report's ranking of America's Best Colleges 2008, which showed that 30 percent of the nation's top schools are using Visix's AxisTV unified communications applications.
