A student-run, project-oriented organization at Michigan State University (MSU), the Audio Enthusiasts and Engineers (AEE), have jumped full-force into their ongoing project, Revolution Audio. Through donations from Neutrik USA—designer and manufacturer of the XX series XLR cable connector—along with several other manufacturers, the students are able to begin construction on a high-quality turntable, low-noise RIAA phono stage, and a hand-built tube microphone, as well as rebuild several power amps and redesign the universal power supply and preamp. more>>

Avocent Expands Family of Products that Enable Video Signal Processing
Avocent added six new products to its Emerge product family, a new set of solutions for video processing. The Emerge VSS products enable AV industry professionals the ability to easily upscale or downscale video to different resolutions and convert video from DVI to VGA or VGA to DVI. The Emerge VSM product combines video and audio switching with a video scaler and converter. Avocent's new video-signal-processing products offer customers the ability to manipulate video signals to meet their needs. Intelix Introduces the AVO-V1A2-WP-F Composite Video and Dual Stereo Audio Wallplate Balun
Intelix announced the release of the AVO-V1A2-WP-F wallplate balun, which distributes one channel of composite video and two channels of high-fidelity stereo audio up to 2200ft. over standard twisted-pair cable, such as Cat-5 or Cat-6. The front panel of the AVO-V1A2-WP-F features three gold-plated female RCA connectors on a white decora face-plate. The rear panel features an RJ45 connector and optional grounding screw.
