What Happened to the
Music?
By Jason Bovberg
Do you still listen to music in your living room? I do. One of my
favorite things to do to relax after a hard day's work is to turn on my
system, carefully select a favorite CD, plop myself directly into my
living room's acoustic "sweet spot," settle back, and listen to the disc
all the way through—sometimes twice. If it's a darkened room, and I've
got a refreshing beverage in hand, all the better. I'll admit that
opportunities for a family man to enjoy such an evening of musical
perfection are few. But it remains a great personal joy.
And everybody I know thinks this behavior is exceedingly strange. more>>

Russound Banks on Collage Audio
System During Collapsing Housing Market
By Rebecca Day
The product development folks at Russound looked in their crystal ball
and saw the bubble burst. “I don’t think any of us guessed it would
be as deep or as bad but we saw signs of the housing bubble starting to
collapse,” says Michael Stein, senior director of research and
technology for Russound. The fruits of the vision will appear in the
second quarter of 2009 when the company launches the Collage
powerline-based multiroom audio system for the retrofit market. more>>

Nostalgic Home
Theater
The client came to us wanting to re-create the
experience of their childhood theater-going days aesthetically, while
providing a cutting edge visual and aural viewing experience. The
control system needed to be simple to operate and visually uncluttered
due to the physical limitations of the clients.
A Control4 system was chosen for the user interface, utilizing a 10.5in.
color touchscreen that provides the client with onscreen music, movie,
and broadcast content management. In addition, the system interfaces
with whole-house security, lighting, and audio systems providing a
singular GUI for the clients.

New Products
Outdoor residential and commercial entertainment used

offer both homeowners and businesses to break free from the hassle,
excessive expense, and these constant concerns thrown at them by Mother
Nature. Beyond being weatherproof, Pantel TVs come complete with an
industry-leading 802.11a wireless package that allows the user to
broadcast audio and video wirelessly up to 150 ft. more>>
