I'm 10 days away from my first screening in this theater—the culmination of a four-month basement-finish project, necessarily stretched out while in the grip of a cruddy economy. The theater has been the centerpoint of the project all along—certainly, it's the room with the most intense thought poured into its design and construction—so it's especially gratifying to see it finally come together. High Performance Theater with Sleek Styling

The goals for this theater were high performance, sleek styling, and sound isolation. A blend of diffusive, absorptive, and reflective surfaces were meticulously combined to create an impressive design while enhancing performance. Unique, curved beams with LED accent lights and built-in spot lights allowed for flexible lighting scenes without any penetrations in the ceiling. Considerable time and expense went into the construction of the room shell for optimal isolation and performance.
