In fact, it sometimes seems the business of providing high-quality display and related systems for corporate users has spawned a separate business encompassing those who study the business. The International Communications Industries Association (ICIA), of course, places a high priority on providing its members with current and useful market data. For example, ICIA recently published 2005 AV Trends and Opportunities Study: State and Local Government, a follow-up to the widely read Acclaro Growth Partners benchmark study of the AV industry released last year. Until last October, the Ravensthe 2000 Super Bowl championshad trained at the old Colts facility, which featured much more rudimentary AV capabilities. In the new facility, 12 50in., 16:9 HD plasma displays are used in the upper management offices and in the cardio areas of the weight room and players' lounge. Forty-six 42in. plasmas were installed in coaches' and scouting offices for viewing football footage, in the dining area and waiting areas, and in the edit suite (with a quad-split screen for QC monitoring). Product News Calypso Control Systems, manufacturer of pro-AV control solutions, has announced that the combination of its open architecture Pro I/O device controller and Aruba control interface software is now fully compatible with presentation products from Smart Technologies. This interoperability allows dealers and system integrators to add custom device control interfaces to existing Smart products. As a result, the presenter never needs to leave the screen in order to control lights, sound, displays, and other presentation equipment. Click here for more. Klotz Digital has released a fully automatic microphone mixer, the Micxer. The Vadis-based mixer can be used in conference center and meeting rooms and for panel discussions, simplifying the normally complicated process of handling multi-microphone signals. It facilitates audio production and offers ease of use while providing distinctly improved audio quality. Additionally, it reduces cost by eliminating the need to integrate third-party equipment. The first Micxer was installed recently at Putrajaya Convention Center and is used in all halls and meeting rooms, including two exhibition halls, a banquet hall, a plenary hall, and more than 20 meeting rooms. Advanced 1.8 Bitlogix Software has announced the immediate availability of the latest version of its NetControl Advanced 1.8 audiovisual control software for use in LAN/WAN environments. NetControl includes driver support for the latest network projectors from Eiki, Epson, Hitachi, and Sharp. NetControl supports more than 380 projector models with the addition of more than 130 new models. The software dramatically increases asset management and monitoring capabilities for greater control over projectors and LCD monitors. An event management system allows users to schedule management tasks such as a remaining projector lamp time summary or projector status read. Reports are automatically generated and can be delivered by email. A Control Manager function offers direct control of one or more projectors simultaneously over the network, an essential capability for helpdesk applications and online support requests.
