IP Video and the Shift from
Analog to Digital Surveillance

As with other types of corporate AV systems, digital,
IP-based video has emerged gradually over the past decade as the de
facto standard for new corporate surveillance systems. The
security-intensive casino environment exemplifies this trend. Two Native
American gaming facilities, for instance, recently announced their moves
to digital systems, citing numerous advantagesincluding vastly
improved resolution, capacity and scalability of cameras, greater
control and automation, enhanced remote-monitoring capabilities, and
secure storage of vast volumes of digital video. But there is a catch
with IP video: The need to justify IP video’s higher price tag as well
as the immense cost of replacing many millions of existing analog video

AC Hilton is 'In the Game' with
Yamaha PM5D Digital Consoles
The Atlantic City Hilton recently installed a
new Yamaha PM5D digital audio console for front of house use in their
entertainment venue. A spectacular state-of-the-art venue built to
showcase the talents of celebrity entertainers, the theater boasts a
seating capacity of over 1,400. The console was purchased by Yamaha
dealer, ACIR Professional in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. "We are extremely
happy that the Hilton decided to purchase a second Yamaha PM5D,”
states John Grasso, ACIR Pro co-owner. "This console is so popular and
familiar, that it's a breeze to set up a show for visiting engineers.
