contributing editor Bennett Liles talks with Matt Schwartz of Unity Pro
AV, a systems integration company in Jackson, Mo., about the firm's
recent installation of a total audio system upgrade at the First Baptist
Church of Poplar Bluff. Schwartz outlines how the job was done and how
large lifts were used for hanging loudspeaker arrays even with existing
pews blocking a large area of the sanctuary floor. Acoustics were
handled first with 93 acoustic panels and then a Renkus-Heinz
loudspeaker array and a Yamaha M7CL-48 mixer were installed. Listen to this podcast>>

Church Opens New Facility with Electro-Voice sound
The building opened in August 2008 and
features a library, café, gymnasium, a 200-seat theatre, and a
stadium-style sanctuary that can seat over 1200. The church already has
plans to expand the sanctuary to accommodate a congregation of 2,200.
