TiVo-Rhapsody Partnership Brings Video Recording a New Sound
 Faced with increased competition from cable and satellite-supplied DVRs, Apple TV, and FiOS, along with the impending introduction of Moxi and the emerging world of Vista-based Media Center PCs, TiVo is doing its best to remain relevant and cutting-edge.

The company's latest partnership puts Rhapsody's 4-million-track music library on the TiVo menu, giving subscribers access to music as well as video. The hope is that Rhapsody will expand the company's profile beyond being the generic term for digital video recording to being a name in the music industry as well. more>>

Creating Inviting Theater Design
 In their vibrant and comfortable home, this client had a finished lower-level basement that was not up to par with the rest of the house's décor. The space was rarely used by the family because it was not attractive or relaxing. A plan was developed with the client's wish list in mind: create a warm and inviting theater environment that would allow dedicated viewing, as well as accommodate an entertainment center for sports events and parties.

Our client wanted an open view of the screen from the rest of the lower level. For this, a design incorporating large plate-glass windows at knee-level wall partitions was developed. Then, for an enclosed theater room experience, we installed motorized shades to cover the glass and windows, and motorized draperies at the openings to the rest of the basement, thus delineating the theater space. more>>

Chief Manufacturing FAC501 Swing-arm Mount Kit
 Chief Manufacturing has designed its in-wall swing-arm kit for compatibility with 20in.-to-26in. flatpanel TVs. The FAC501 converts on-wall swing-arm mounts from low-profile to no-profile, the company says, making screens appear to float on the wall.
