Your Pre-show Guide to InfoComm '06
Many people think of InfoComm solely as a trade show, with just an exhibit floor of manufacturer booths. InfoComm is actually much more, with a full schedule of activities taking place in the days before the exhibit floor actually opens. • Design School Level 1: Principles of Applied AV Design (Basic)
  • Design School Level 2: Facilities Design (Intermediate)
  • Certification Prep Course (Basic)
  • Project Management: Competencies and Structure (Basic)
  • Professional Sales Skills for AV Systems & Equipment (Basic)
  • Lighting for Videoconference and Presentation Spaces (Basic)
  • Videoconferencing: Applications, Technology and Trends (Intermediate)

Super Tuesday, held appropriately on Tuesday, June 6th (8:00a.m. to 3:30p.m.), features ten, day-long intermediate and advanced sessions. You can choose from:

  • Rental & Staging Management & Operations
  • Designing in the Digital Age
  • Is the Residential Market Right for Your Company?
  • Government and Corporate AV Information Security
  • Project Management Overview
  • Introduction to Collaboration Conferencing
  • Technology Manager How-Tos
  • Digital Signage
  • Tools, Tactics and Technologies for Presentation Professionals
  • Technology Trends

And the first of two Industry Forums take place Tuesday evening. The Manufacturers Forum moderated by Gary Kayye of Kayye Consulting features panelists from a variety of companies that serve the AV industry. Scheduled to participate are: Rashid M Skaf, president and CEO fo AMX Corp.; Mike Jones, VP and general manager of Barco Media and Entertainment North America; Robert Mueller, executive vice president and CEO of JVC; Rick Snyder, president of Tandberg; John Meyer, president and CEO of Meyer Sound Laboratories; and Andrew Edwards, president of Extron Electronics.

Other events and partner conferences taking place or starting before the exhibit floor opens on June 7th include: The Projection Summit, Technologies for Worship, The InfoComm AV Awards Banquet, and, on Tuesday evening, THE InfoComm Party featuring the Raspyni Brothers and the Smithereens.
