InfoComm 2006: A Full Schedule
More than 28,000 people are expected to attend InfoComm '06. That includes systems integrators, dealers, independent reps, rental and staging professionals, programmers, presentation and video production professionals, consultants, and tech managers from more than 15 vertical markets including corporate, government, military, education, and worship. InfoComm provides a unique opportunity to learn, do business, explore technology, and network among peers.

The AV Tech Tours continue to provide examples of practical applications with state of the art AV technology. This year features visits to SeaWorld Orlando, Cirque du Soleil La Nouba, and the University of Central Florida.

In addition to InfoComm Academy programming, InfoComm '06 also welcomes the return of co-located conference, EduComm. Now in its third year—and the fastest growing national education conference (up 60 percent last year!)—EduComm is the only national technology management conference focused on the connecting education with audiovisual and information technology to enhance the classroom experience. From keynote addresses and dynamic presentations, to hands-on sessions and professional workshops, EduComm's goal is to help develop successful strategies for integrating AV and IT, make wise purchasing decisions, and provide solutions for managing the training and support functions in higher education and K-12 facilities. EduComm '06 is sponsored by Dell, Extron, SmartTechnologies, SonicFoundry, and Anystream Apreso Classroom.

Coverage of professional audio continues to grow at InfoComm; more than 250 of the exhibitors at InfoComm '06 (out of over 750 total) are audio related. Attendees can look forward to practical product demonstrations by manufacturers in a dozen audio demo rooms. Workshops such as Loudspeaker and Speech Intelligibility (presented by Technology Visions), rigging demos (provided by The ESTA Foundation), and seminars covering live sound, advanced audio, wireless systems, and more, advance the InfoComm commitment to "Audio, Amplified."

As supporting technologies develop, digital content creation and management become an increasing focal point within the industry. New products and ideas for content creation will be offered at the Digital Content Creation Pavilion at InfoComm '06 (sponsored by Digital Content Producer, Millimeter, and Sound & Video Contractor). The pavilion will feature live demonstrations and hands-on instruction that will bridge the gap between content creation and display.

Whether you're interested in content for digital signage, special venue, worship, or web, this is the place to see content creation highlighted in ways that make sense for the presentation professional. Special sessions on digital content creation at InfoComm '06 include free seminars from the InfoComm International Presentations Council (presented in the Digital Content Creation Pavilion) and a Super Tuesday session, "Tools, Tactics and Technologies for Presentation Professionals." InfoComm Academy will also offer seminars in streaming media video production strategies, streaming media encoding and delivery, and fitting video streaming into a collaboration strategy.

Some of the exhibiting manufacturers that will feature digital acquisition products include: JVC Professional, Panasonic Television and Broadcast, Canon USA, and others.

Also exhibited are products that assist in the content editing arena from Chyron, For-A, Matrox, and NewTek. Displays and monitors for editing suites can be seen from companies like Marshall Electronics, Dell, and Christie.

Information on products for streaming digital media, projection systems, switchers, synchronizers, production components, and workstations is available throughout the pavilion as well as the exhibit floor.
