Your ePreview to InfoComm
InfoComm '06 Just Around the Corner
Come next week, Orlando, Fla., will be teaming with opportunities to see and learn the latest in AV technology—no matter what your focus is:

If your looking to expand your audio knowledge, Synergistic Audio Concepts (Syn-Aud-Con), renowned audio and acoustic seminar specialists, returns to InfoComm, bringing its outstanding four-day course on Sound Reinforcement for Designers. This intermediate-level course emphasizes the codependence of room acoustics and sound system placement. From Saturday, June 3 to Tuesday, June 6, you'll learn how to measure and predict the acoustics performance of enclosed spaces and how to manipulate the sound field's ratios in a space by loudspeaker selection and placement. You'll also want to check out the Audio Pavilion, where more than 250 companies will showcase their products, allowing you an in-depth look at some products you may have had your eye on.

Of course InfoComm wouldn't be InfoComm without offering you a chance to see the latest display offerings. At the Large Venue Display Galler, sponsored by Extron, you can see the latest displays makers have to offer up close—just the way you like. You'll also want to find your way to the Digital Signage Pavilion, where there's history in the making in this fast-growing field.

But the best and latest buzz will be taking place in the Digital Content Creation Pavilion, sponsored by Digital Content Producer, Millimeter, and Sound & Video Contractor, where new ideas and technologies will be swarming. And over at the Lighting & Staging Pavilion, catch Rigging and Staging Demonstrations. You'll also get a chance to see some creativity in action at the System Programming & GUI Design Gallery where Crestron Authorized Independent Programmers (CAIP) members have developed innovative demonstrations on 15in. Crestron touchpanels. And over at the Collaborative Conference Pavilion you'll see IT and AV unite in the form of the newest conferencing applications on the market, along with HD Conferencing demos.

There'll be plenty to keep you on your toes. Remember, the conference starts June 3 with the exhibition hall opening on June 7. Of course, the InfoComm Academy is bringing you a smorgasbord of educational offerings to brighten your technology-savvy future. With just a few days left before the AV flood gates open, you better be prepared (or start preparing, if you haven't already). We'll see you at the show—have fun, learn lots, and prepared to be amazed!

The New VN-Matrix from Electrosonic on Show at InfoComm
Electrosonic will be showcasing the VN-Matrix at booth 3448 at InfoComm '06. Delegates visiting the booth will be able to preview this powerful, realtime image encoder/decoder, which is suitable for demanding imaging applications where the cost of replicating image-generation equipment is impractical or expensive.

VN-Matrix encodes video or graphics sources at resolutions up to HD or UXGA, streams this over an IP network, and decodes the signal back to the original picture. Bidirectional audio may accompany the video. VN-Matrix offers image-delivery performance (high resolution and low latency) not attainable with video streaming or computer desktop capture systems. Realtime encoding removes the need for time-consuming intermediate processes to prepare content for network transmission. more>>
