JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort Introduces New Ballroom
The JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix has unveiled the Saguaro Ballroom, which features more than 50,000 square-feet of meeting and event space. The ballroom offers 15,000 square feet of outdoor space on the resort’s Sunset Lawn and is pillar-free to give guests maximum flexibility for exhibits and events, management says. CatHouse a Hotspot for Events on the Strip
The new CatHouse, located at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, is a 7,100 square-foot venue inspired by a 19th century European bordello, management says. The night club can accommodate private events from 10 to 650 guests. The CatHouse has two rooms: The Loungerie, which features hundreds of small, personal effects from European bordellos, and the Chandelier Room, a combination of world-class restaurant and upscale lounge. Dr. Wilkinson’s Hot Springs Resort Completes Renovation
Dr. Wilkinson’s Hot Springs Resort, located in Calistoga, Calif., completed a major renovation of The Victorian, a five-bedroom home on the resort property. The home maintains its 19th century allure, management says, and also provides guests with modern amenities such as iPod docking stations and wireless Internet access. "Clouds" Send Messages into the Sky
Special events company SnowMasters uses a special fluid, high-tech equipment and helium to create Flogos, which look and float in the sky like clouds. Flogos can travel 20 to 30 miles, float up to 20,000 feet, and be molded into any shape to be used for advertising, sporting events and corporate events, the manufacturer says. Flogo-making machines are available for one-day rentals or to lease long-term.
