The Westin New York at Times Square Offers Feng Shui Menu
The Westin New York at Times Square has launched a feng shui-inspired menu. Meeting planners can incorporate the ancient Chinese practice of feng shui--the philosophy of achieving harmony through correct placement--into special events, management says. The menu includes green tea martinis, nigri sushi and Kobe beef; a yin yang dumpling station is also available. The hotel features 34,000 square feet of meeting space and a 13-screen movie theater, which seats groups up to 526. For more information, click here.

The Village at Squaw Valley Adds Meeting Space
The Village at Squaw Valley USA, located in Olympic Valley, Calif., has opened the new Mountain Stream Room, which adds 1,900 square feet of meeting space to the resort. The new room can be divided into three smaller rooms via air walls, and the space is wired for audiovisual presentations and teleconferencing. The Mountain Stream Room features a large patio that is perfect for outdoor seating and cocktail receptions, management says. For more information, click here.

Sushisamba Strip to Debut in Las Vegas
Sushisamba is set to debut at The Palazzo Las Vegas this spring. The restaurant will feature a 14,000-square-foot dining room, a 21-seat sushi bar and a main bar designed to accommodate 35 people. Sixteen-foot ceilings create an atrium that houses the main restaurant space, and the robata station is encased in semitransparent Frit glass to offer a glimpse of the grill, management says. Updated Software for Caterers
Caterpro Software announces the release of Caterpro for Windows Version 2008, which includes functions for entering menus and creating orders. The 2008 version will allow caterers to create several new reports and has more data fields, the developer says. Existing clients can upgrade to the new version for $300, and new customers can purchase it for $1,295 for the network product or $725 for the single-system version. Prices for both include one year of technical support.

Battery-powered RGB LED Color Panel
Elation Professional has launched the Event Panel System, a RGB LED color-changing panel that comes with a battery pack. Equipped with 288 high-output 10mm LEDs, the Event Panel System is ideal for adding brilliant color to special event and banquets, the manufacturer says. The system features a 40-degree beam angle and has an output distance of 65 to 85 feet.
