DOVER CORP SELLS HEIL TRAILER
Heil Trailer International, a global manufacturer of cargo tank and specialty trailers, has been sold to American Industrial Partners, a middle-market private equity firm.
The deal is valued at approximately $220 million.

CLASS 8 NET ORDERS HIT SECOND-HIGHEST MARK IN THREE YEARS: FTR
December Class 8 truck total net orders for all major North American OEMs reached the second highest level in three years at 29,777 units, according to preliminary data released by FTR Associates. December orders were up 46% month over month, with a year-over-year increase from December 2011 of 11%.

GODWIN'S SNOWPLOW OPERATION TAKING OFF
Since purchasing Good Roads and moving snowplow operation to its facility in Dunn, N.C., the Godwin Group has watched snowplows take off. Godwin has manufactured and delivered over 300 snowplows in the first 90 days of production, and is on track to match Good roads’ best year in snowplow production in the first six months of operation, based on purchase orders already in hand.

DECEMBER CLASS 8 NET ORDERS HIGHER THAN EXPECTED: ACT
North American Class 8 preliminary net orders for December were slightly higher than expected, as reported by ACT Research Co., LLC (ACT). The final numbers, which will be released mid-January, will approach 30,100 units for Class 8 trucks and 13,300 for Class 5-7 vehicles.

LIGHT VEHICLE SALES TO GROW GLOBALLY IN 2012
Worldwide sales of light vehicles are expected to grow this year, albeit slowly, and amid concern that Europe’s sovereign debt issue could derail everything. Polk projects that worldwide sales of new light vehicles this year should rise 6.7% over 2011 volumes to 77.7 million vehicles, with gains anticipated in all global regions except Europe.

CHRYSLER PROVIDING DTE ENERGY WITH TEST FLEET OF PHEV RAM 1500S
Chrysler Group LLC, working in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), will deliver 10 demonstration fleet Ram 1500 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) pickup trucks to DTE Energy of Detroit. The PHEV Ram 1500 pickups, delivered by Abdullah Bazzi, senior manager of the Chrysler Group's advanced hybrid vehicle project, are part of a national demonstration fleet of 140 vehicles that will be used during the next three years to evaluate customer usage, drive cycles, charging, thermal management, fuel economy, emissions and impact on the region's electric grid.

YOKOHAMA RAISES PRICES 8% ON COMMERCIAL TIRES

FTR'S TRUCKING CONDITIONS INDEX RISES
