Reliability Assessment.

NV Energy, Inc. and the Western Area Power Administration have
signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the potential
development of 500-kV transmission lines and associated facilities to
access renewable energy resources and deliver those resources to
electricity users in Nevada, California, Arizona and other markets in
the Southwest United States.

According to a new report from Pike Research, more than 250 million

utilities seeking to invest in the deployment of smart grid
infrastructure. Of this total, $215,558,896 will go to more than 50
electric cooperatives and public power districts in 14 states.
