This course covers skills required to enter settings, test, commission, and troubleshoot this class of SEL relays. The student will: Review skills required to work with SEL relays; learn about specific transmission relay testing considerations; practice those skills through working with different relays throughout the course; gain familiarity with the operating principles of each type of relay; explore the features of SEL relay technology to make appropriate choices when designing test routines. This course provides a beginner-level introduction to testing SEL relays. The student will learn basic relay testing skills; acquire skills required to work with SEL relays, such as using Relay Word bits and relay event reports; practice acquired skills by working with a phase and ground distance (SEL-311C) relay during the training.
