NV
Energy and WAPA to Study Nevada to California/Southwest Transmission
Projects
NV Energy, Inc. and the Western Area Power Administration have
signed a Memorandum of Understanding under which the parties intend to
explore the potential development of 500-kV transmission lines and
associated facilities to access renewable energy resources and deliver
those resources to electricity users in Nevada, California, Arizona and
other markets in the Southwest U.S.

Power
Grid Corp. of India Orders 765-kV Substation
AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution (T&D) division has recently
won an order worth approximately €21 million from Power Grid Corp.
Ltd. (PGCIL), India’s main transmission utility, for a 765-kV Extra
High Voltage Substation.

Siemens
to Expand HVDC Link in New Zealand
Siemens Energy has received an order from Wellington-based
Transpower New Zealand Limited, the national grid operator, to modernize
and increase the capacity of the existing high-voltage direct-current
(HVDC) link between the country’s North and South Island.
