Goff's
Welding Curtain Walls
Goff's welding curtain walls slide in and out of use easily to form a UV
protected area. Goff's curtains are spark resistant. Goff's Weld
curtains can help with the containment of welding fumes keeping them
confined to that area until proper exhaust can occur. Curtain walls can
act as a shield from harmful flying debris.

Perhaps a welder's most personalized accessory is his or her
helmet.
It provides critical protection from damaging arc flash, yet must remain
comfortable enough for a full day's work.
In today's market, often the most convenient helmets sold are auto
darkening.

As a general rule, spending more on a welding helmet will increase
comfort, improve your welding ability, result in higher quality welds
and ensure your safety.
Unfortunately, selecting a helmet can be confusing if you're not
familiar with the latest auto-darkening lens technology and national
safety standards.

Submerged arc welding is nearly a fully automated process.
"The operator isn't handling the equipment, but pushing a button. It can
be done robotically, but people generally don't because most submerged
arc welding is done in a straight line, whereas robots are better for
complex shapes,” Mike Flagg, manager of the applications engineering
department for the Lincoln Electric Company, said.

Laser and abrasive waterjet cutting methods have evolved over the
past decade to overtake stamping and EDM in fabrication and welding job
shops.
“Customers look at ways to cut various materials, and many choose
laser, a good tool for production on parts up to ½-in. thick,” Nick
Giannotte, vice president of MC Machinery Systems' Waterjet & EDM sales
and marketing, said.

AWS Standard A3.0:2001 is a 141-page document that sets out those
standard terms and definitions, and it gives me headaches.
It is a living document that was developed by a dedicated committee of
21 industry professionals. Those experts gave their time to two AWS
committees — the Committee on Definitions and Symbols, and the
Definitions Subcommittee — to develop or refine the definitions
presented in the Standard, and their efforts should be acknowledged and
appreciated.
