Robotic Tool
Changers
ATI Industrial Automation is the leading supplier of Robotic Tool
Changers which allow a robot to automatically exchange welding transguns
or other tools, making robots more flexible and maintenance easier.
ATI's Tool Changers feature a patented fail-safe locking mechanism that
typically exceeds robot load specifications. www.ati-ia.com

Submerged arc welding is nearly a fully automated process.
"The operator isn't handling the equipment, but pushing a button. It can
be done robotically, but people generally don't because most submerged
arc welding is done in a straight line, whereas robots are better for
complex shapes," Mike Flagg, manager of the applications engineering
department for the Lincoln Electric Company, said.

TIG welding is becoming increasingly critical for transportation
industries as vehicles that range from cars and trucks to aircraft are
made lighter to reduce fuel consumption and save on ever-higher costs of
fuel.

More welding shops are turning to innovative cutting technologies
such as plasma to improve productivity.
Plasma cutting is faster than most other cutting methods and can produce
a higher quality cut. Its speed reduces the time needed to cut metals,
and the quality cut that it provides can eliminate secondary operations
that often are required after the cut when other processes are used.

On the job or in the garage, every welder needs protection to
prevent eye damage.
As a general rule, spending more on a welding helmet will increase
comfort, improve your welding ability, result in higher quality welds
and ensure your safety.

Goff's
Welding Curtain Walls
Goff's welding curtain walls slide in and out of use easily to form a UV
protected area. Goff's curtains are spark resistant. Goff's Weld
curtains can help with the containment of welding fumes keeping them
confined to that area until proper exhaust can occur. Curtain walls can
act as a shield from harmful flying debris.

Increase Your ROI With Sensor-Driven Error Proofing
From Stamping to Welding.
Time: Sept. 17, 2008 @ 2:00pm ET – 11:00am PT
Balluff will show you how to use sensors in weld cells and stamping
operations to increase production rates, increase ROI, and decrease
costs.
During this webinar, you will learn how to:
- Significantly increase your production output as well as your
product quality.
- Use sensors to increase your process profitability.
- Protect sensors and connectivity in your process for vastly
decreased unplanned downtime and sensor wastage.
- Detect and eliminate errors in your process before they can cause
part defects or tooling damage
